We've just driven through Baslow, near Chatsworth Park, and out of the corner of my eye I spotted a sign advertising the local Club site.

"Look" says I "The new CM&C logo"

"Where?" says she.in the passenger seat

"Over there" says I.

"What that?" says she "You're joking, aren't you?

"No" says I

She was still chuckling two miles further on.

It bears no resemblance to anything remotely relevant to the club and the centre looks more like a crocus than anything else. The logo is supposed to be two horse shoes going back to the one on the previous club logo but it is all in the imagination of those who were told that and authorised it.  Sorry but it is just rubbish.

I noticed at the National that all the pennents for the centres that were flying proud round the main arena all had the original logo  , and as it is the centre's who seem to have the "ear" of the the EGH head honcho's ,some sense still prevaleswink

I am sure that I and others can and will 'get over it' HD. That does not mean that we feel there to be any value in the poorly designed new logo nor any merit in the production of reams of empty words, buzz words and hype. Just declaring that the club is in anyway revitalised is pure hokum (to put it politely)

In France we thought there were loads of CC sites but closer inspection revealed that ti was signage for Walls Ice cream.  Wife still chuckles when she sees the logo.

I'm a graphic designer, nothing to do with the design of the new logo but I love it! Love the more muted colours, lovely that the motorhome owners are now included (and no I don't own a motorhome), I think it looks really fresh, clean and smart! I think the last logo was outdated! I think with competition from the Camping & Caravan Club it's bought the club back into this century! Well done!

???undecided our daughter iris also a graphic designer and has completely the opposite thoughts to that,  as she thinks it is a terrible hash up a design that is/was an internationally respected logo of an organisation that has not realised what has been lost for probably little or no return what it has cost

But graphic designers work to what the customer want don't they?

I much preferred  the Old Logo , The reason for the Change is a Financial one Only , Motorhome advertisers have a big Budget .

Whilst I am not a fan of the colouring I think one has to accept that if you are going to change something you have to change it, not adjust it, and I tend to agree that the old logo was rather old fashioned and I doubt could be updated. I somehow doubt that what we now have was the only initial option as I am, sure it's usual to have a range of designs to decide from. We are, of course, all entitled to our own opinion on such things but at the end of the day we don't make the decision. That decision has been made and unlikely to be changed anytime soon and I think we have to get used to that thought.

Sorry but I want something that has some connection with the club. The new one might be clean fresh and modern, but it is totally meaningless, and could represent anything or anyone. I would not have thought a more relevant modern design would have been that difficult.

Only the future will prove/disprove that JV. I can't see a change of logo & name leading to a haemorrhaging of membership.

The logo reminds me of a famous ice cream brand one ...

Lets be brutally honest here !

if the logo had a caravan on it, Motorhomers would complain.

if the logo had a Motorhome on it, caravaners would complain.

if you use the letters cmc, and involve them in a car crash, you get how the shape of the logo was formed,

i reckon that the best use of the logo, is to view it upside down, where it reminds of the school boy joke of drawing a light bulb, turning it upside and you get a picture of someone pulling up their clothing.

That said, looking at it upside down, it opens the mind to all sorts of interpretations ?

next task is finding the screen lock on your pad, to stop the screen rotating ;-)
