Malcolm, just think of it as exercise wink a bit of weight lifting, bending and stretching, all keeps the joints moving you know.

While your lunch may well have been a healthier option eating another main meal at 21.30 certainly isn't. What will your coq au vin be accompanied by? eating a main meal so late in the day isn't good for you, neither is eating lunch and then laying down for a nap. What would have been better is to have gone for a walk in the fresh air. Just out of curiosity what does your wife do when you have a nap.

Busy day today, bit of gardening first, then into town to pick up Mum for a few hours. While I had her I cut and washed her hair and did her nails for her. Then back into town to take her back to the home.

More gardening on return, then OH did a run to the re-cycle centre with all the garden waste ( I've already filled the 2 big bins we have) OH cut the hedge between us and the neighbours (its their hedge) so the car was a bit full.

After that it was putting the bedding back into the van that I had washed on our return. Washer on again with more washing where does it all come from.

Going out tonight for a couple of hours to view our friends new motorhome. Its their first one a Rapido don't know what model yet. They have had caravans for years but have decided to splash out on a new m/h after seeing how much traveling we do. They are not yet ready to retire so are going to get used to it in the UK first before they venture overseas.

AD yes we do wash our van when we are away embarassed just a quick wash when it gets too bad.

    Rice AND vermicelli!?

And a second cooked meal later?

I doubt my digestive system could handle that!

Arrived home just after 4pm, good journey, no hold ups.

Van now on drive and secured with 2 AlKos, hitch lock and new alarm battery.  Some unpacking done and OH has the first load of washing nearly done.

A couple of things in the house will need attention tomorrow.....the overflowing water tank, and  one of the heating  timers which has gone mad.  Think we will need a new one.

Unpacking will continue tomorrow, weather permitting.

Like KjellNN we arrived home yesterday afternoon,  dropped van back into storage on the way home. Enjoyed the break although weather mid week was bit wet and not very warm. Two CL's used were good and new caravan was great, no problems so far. Will get Puffin pics transferred to computer and post a couple as soon as time permits.smile

Did all the washing and have just pegged it on the line outside to dry, Quick catch up with the gossip and and news on CT then it's back to work, and as nothing will have been touched for a week it's going to be busy catching up.frown

My work at Pizza Hut is physically active and four hours of doing that is enough to work up an appetite. I usually feel quite hungry by the time I get home. Also I find I need lunch before I go to work because I get nothing to eat whilst working and so need some energy to do the job.

Not sure about that, Tammygirl. After four hours at work doing a physically demanding job, I doubt that it would be comfortable to go to bed hungry!

In answer to your question, my wife prefers an afternoon nap too!

You have to look at it according to your daily routine, Tammygirl and KjellNn. I start work at 18:00, so that's like 09:00 a.m to other people who have a daytime job. Most people have something to eat before they start work and my working day starts in the evening. Most people with a daytime job will finish at 17:00 and then have a meal when they get home. I finish work at 22:00 so that is like 17:00 to daytime workers. So I have to fit in mealtimes accordingly!

Anyhow, the coq au vin tasted delicious last night, as good as anything in a restaurant and at a lot less cost because it was home cooked by my wife.

Anyhow, I've now got three days off from work and it's the start of Wimbledon today at 11:30 a.m. on BBC 2. So a day of entertainment for me today on tv in air-conditioned comfort! So the plan is a snack lunch, maybe cheese and pickle sandwich in front of the telly!

We had a really good day yesterday.  Some lovely friends arranged a small gathering for lunch at theirs in honour of Mr H's special birthday.  Most of us have known each other since before we were married so it was so good to spend the day in such good company and have a good catch up.

Furthermore, it's free!  I won't need to spend a single penny! Just as well, as I won't get paid until next Friday. We've got a cable to hook up to the site Freeview channels so no need for a satellite dish! Just free entertainment with a perfect picture on the screen. Less than an hour to go before it all starts.

I've finished all my ablutions. Had a nice shower, a clean set of clothes and feeling much fresher after all that sweat at work yesterday! Sitting out in the awning at the moment. It's cool enough, you'll be glad to know!wink

    Glad you enjoyed your meal.

Although your working day is skewed, is your bedtime? It is not a good idea to have a large meal close to lying down and going to sleep. Well certainly not for me, in any event.☹️ A light snack would be a much better idea.

Don't forget the Tour de France, if you get fed up of tennis. ITV 4 all afternoon, every day, for the next three weeks.

Thanks for the suggestion, Steve. I've just tuned into it and it's showing the highlights which will keep me going until 11:30! I agree, it's spectacular to watch with all the scenery and crowds cheering en route! Although at the moment it's just commentators reporting on it.

Let me get this right, 3 days off with nice weather and you are going to spend it sitting inside an aircon'd van watching tv cry

Working the hours you work is not that bad, I've worked much worse hours over the years.Getting up at the time you do I would have a normal breakfast of say cereals or toast with a boiled egg or fruit and yogurt, mid morning a cuppa, lunch would be a bowl of soup or baked potato with a filling an small side salad, or a sandwich. Mid afternoon a cuppa. Main meal I would have before going to work say 5pm, I would have a piece of fruit with me possibly a banana and a soft drink (sugar free) Once finished work and back in the van I would have a cuppa and if peckish a piece of toast. During the day I would be drinking water and eating fruit after meals. As we get older our bodies do not need the level of food you are consuming, we cannot burn it off as we did when younger.

Given your health issues and the fact that you sit around most of the day, even your job is sitting most of the time. I know you say you are active but it hardly raises your heart rate does it, getting out of a car handing over a pizza and then getting back into a car cannot be classed as exercise.

    Enjoy the tennis frown

Yes, it's a new milking parlour (well, everything except the stall work - the current setup will be used).

Our current parlour is 15 years old, and upgrading will make a huge difference.

We've had Laval milking equipment for 70 years. No loyalty discount though!

Yesterday we went to Lincoln for lunch with my daughter and oldest grandson. We hadn't intended going there we had booked a table on Sleaford but changed our minds when we got there due to mix up over the booking.

we had a lovely lunch at a tapas restaurant on Bailgate near the cathedral and then went to the castle where we saw one of the four original copies of Magna Carta and the original Domesday Book. I say the original book, I discovered that there are in fact two, the Great Domesday and a smaller one. We saw the Great book. This is the only time that the book has been displayed anywhere outside London, at least since the National Archive took possession of it in the 1800s. Apparently it used to travel with King when it was first compiled.

After that we went shopping on Steep Hill where I bought the GS a rather expensive bottle of gin and two gin glasses as a graduation present. He got a 2:1 in finance and accountancy at Newcastle University .

    A lovely day out.

I was just wondering how physically demanding delivering pizzas might be, I suppose there may be some stairs to climb every so often.  How many steps do you do per day Malcolm, and how many flights of stairs?

You should get a FitBit and check up on your activity.  My daughter gave me one so I could check how active I was following my heart bypass.  I usually easily get over 10000 steps per day, and several flights of stairs, I had 17 flights one day last week.

Being away in the van means it  is more difficult to get several flights of stairs, much easier now we are home where we do actually have stairs.

Our regime is a light breakfast, a light lunch and our evening meal no later than 7pm, usually nearer 6pm.  We are "night owls" these days, rarely in bed before midnight, and generally not up before 9am unless we have something planned.

If we are out and eat lunch out, then the evening meal is a snack.  Would never have 2 full cooked meals in a day.  Sometimes we have brunch, maybe scrambled egg, in which case we will have nothing other than liquids until dinner time.  During the day we will have a mug of coffee with lunch,  tea with breakfast, and otherwise only water.  OH gets through quite a bit of water, says I should drink more water, but I do have fruit with or between meals, which usually she does not.
