not far off being in most people's top three TTDA.
didnt realise it was ok to mention the C and D words in open forum (special threads only?
) there are some who would think this very poor form.however, the S word is a good one to mention all the time.....folk need constant reminding its not a race track.

Don't misinterpret me at all, I like to see and hear children enjoying themselves, spent 25 years devising holiday activities for them, but the tiny minority of bad parents, bad dog owners (usually the same combination) can make or break a holiday, so we don't risk it any more than we have too nowadays. Not limited to Club Sites of course either, we choose our sites with the greatest of care. We occasionally holiday with family children, always a delight.
Some folks need a lot of guidance to get the best out of a holiday, others don't, it's just another lifestyle choice. Like HD, when on holiday we don't do rules, but we do choose respectful standards. Respect others as you hope to be respected yourselves.

Lots of shops have advisory notices for parents regarding children. Usually places such as B&Q, where there might be lifting equipment around.
I regard this below as one of the saddest signs I have ever seen. (Note the bit at the bottom about supervising children). It was erected after a child died, and after countless rescues from the sea on this particular bit of coast. A truly sad reminder.

Parked on a small site just out side Lourdes it's great one of those not quite caught up yet, reminds us of the eighties luke warm showers no one speaks English the only Brit on site maybe one Dutch depends what day.
Asked what pitch find one you like stay there pay when you leave, makes touring so relaxing very peaceful and quiet and complete with children and dogs just hear bark now I'll have another beer.1 -
The reason for the 3 metres between awnings or car to awning is that the awning is constructed of different materials than a caravan or motorhome. We follow the guidance from the British Research Establishment on this and we work closely with Surrey Fire and Rescue to manage fire safety on our sites and implement their recommendations where necessary.
We have rules on site because we need to keep all of our members safe and comfortable. Our aim is to enable our members an enjoyable experience on site and to encourage our members to be respectful of each other. The ‘rules’ are applied consistently across the network so that we can be effective in how we manage and run our network, and that members who regularly use sites know what to expect.

I will now close this discussion because it got very argumentative at times, despite our previous advice on posting, and we also hope we have explained why we have the rules in place. Thanks to those who contributed constructively and we ask that members do abide by the guidelines in the future.
