Check  under  the  new  name,  folks  --  the  shop  I  saw  in  Shrewsbury  was  just  like  the  "old"  staples  internally,  and  the  E-mails  I  get  are  selling { or  trying  to  sell }  goods  that  look  very  similar  if  not  identical  to  the  old  stores.

Tell  me  about  it,  TA  !!

After  a  long,  hard  mornings  graft { finishing  ironing,  unpacking  a few  thousand  tons  of  bird  food ( well  at  least  2cwt )  and  putting  it  into  storage  bins,  then  cleaning  &  disinfecting  both  bird  baths }  I've  come  on  'ere  for  a  few  mins  R  & R  Now  the  Bird Brained  Clock  has  just  tweeted  8:00  !!  so  it's  back  to  the  small  utensil  battery  box  and  charge  up  a  load  for  this  afternoon.  And  to  think  I  was  going  to  settle  down  after  lunch  and  have  a  session  trimming ( i.e.  micro  sized  strimming )  my  beard  So  it'll  be  next  week  now  before  I  can  get  my  hair  cut  and  I  suppose  the  temperatures  will  drop  even  further  then yell  Must  look  out  my  scarf,  yet  another  unwanted  job,  moan,  moan,  grouse  !

We've booked two nights away from 9th July, to stay at Lancing Fruit Farm CL on Old Salts Farm Road, Lancing; so we had a drive around the area this morning to try to familiarise ourselves with the route. It's only about a mile away from where I work and it's open all year, so there's an idea for somewhere to stay during the winter months when Northbrook Farm closes. It would certainly cut the cost and time spent commuting!

We'll need to spend two nights away because our 21 nights will be up by then so a nice new location to try out. The surrounding area looked quite attractive.

When I booked it over the phone, it was confirmed £12 per night with ehu, which is £1 a night cheaper than Charmill Cottage CS. So it looks good value for money. The reviews look good too!

Hope you enjoy it Malcolm, don't forget CL's are held to 21 nights the same as club sites, or is it 28 nightsundecided you will have to move between the two of them over winter. Can't you find a permanent site non club that would allow you to stay all the time without moving.

OH fixed the fly screen door on the van, we've given it a good service and re-fitted it back into the van all working well and looking good smile

Not raining today but grey and overcast, still chilly due to the damp and gloomy skies. Can't get into the garden to do anything as its all too wet and soft. So I'm trying to persuade the OH we should just go away again and find some better weather wink

Well that's it, a busy day over, more tomorrow, a music in the park type event with son and grandson. Then a visit to my Mum and up to Bristol on Sunday, my sister and others have open gardens, hers is a small town garden. Will tag along for the remnants of the tea and cakes....! laughing

Hope you all have a good weekend. I'm still trying to plan a Scottish trip in September, have got as far as a few nights in Rosemarkie, must decide on the next bit but might just go with the flow somewhere. smile

Sounds like you have a lovely weekend ahead brue. I hope you get good weather. We are off to friends for lunch on Sunday. They have kindly organised a gathering for Mr H's special birthday. Then off to St David's in Wales for a family holiday later in the week. In a cottage this time which will be a bit of a novelty for us.

"Will  tag  along  for  the  remnants  of  the  tea  and  cakes ....! laughing "

To  which  I  can  only  add  :--  "Oh  Crumbs"

That's  got  my  poor  attempt  at  humour  out  of  the  way  for  the  evening  !

As  for  your Scottish  Trip  in  September  you  should  have  a great  old  time  !!  Trees  will  be starting  to  change  colour  as  long  as  you  don't  do  what  I  did  some  time  back  !  I  planned  a  super  autumn  tour  but  picked  just  about  every  pine  forest  to  look  at,  and  never  any  deciduous  trees  --  the  only  colours  changing  I  saw  was  when  the  sunshine  reflected  off  the  early  morning  dew  embarassed.

Yes 28 nights maximum stay on a CL as well as on a CS. However, you can move off for 48 hours and then return for another 28 nights if pitches are available. I think 28 nights in one place is long enough. It's nice to go somewhere else for a change, especially as I get a lot of time off in this job and have more time available for moving.

We've still got just over 4 months to go with our seasonal pitch. Northbrook Farm closes on Monday, 6th November. 28 nights after that will take us to 4th December. Then after another 17 nights somewhere else, maybe Charmill Cottage CS, we're booked to stay for two weeks over Christmas and New Year at Baltic Wharf, Bristol which will take us from 21st December to 4th January 2018. My employers agreed that two week break from work because it was already arranged before I started. Normally they don't allow holiday in December. Also I think it will be paid annual leave as I will have accumulated enough paid leave to cover that period.

Last day of the holiday today, tomorrow we have the 270 mile trip home. Dual carriageway or motorway for all but a few miles.

With an early-ish start, we should be home by mid afternoon.  Forecast looks reasonable, so I should not get soaked while getting the van into place on our driveway.

Weather here in north Wales has been mixed, with thick mist on the Horseshoe Pass every night, not pleasant for driving back to the van after visiting our friends.

Lovely this morning, site quite full, only a few grass pitches unoccupied.

I went to the Town Hall in Huddersfield last night to se my GS with his school choir.

They run a concert every day for the week with a number of school choir each night. 200 hundred children aged 7 to 11 singing their hearts out and enjoying every minute.

my favorite song was a Hindi folk song which they sang in Hindi unaccompanied or as my 10 year old GS corrected me 'a capella'
