Steve, the owners have expanded the site quite a bit, and they have, as well as an outside dog/bike wash, possibly the best toilet facilities in the network, complete with underfloor heating!!

Visit to Specsavers today as my eyesight is getting worse.  It looks as though I will need the cataract op next year.  In the meantime more new glasses. This cataract thing is getting expensive!!

    It's still raining.

Steve, the owners have extended the site quite a lot. Lots of large H/S pitches, quite a few seasonal pitches, a dog/bike wash and possibly the best toilet facilities in the network, complete with individual shower/toilet cubicles and underfloor heating.

OOPs, sorry about the double post. For some reason the first post didn't appear on my computer and so I thought that It hadn't gone through.

Last day of this trip and it's rained nearly all day. 64 nights away and only the 4th day when we've not got out because of rain, so can't complain. Hope it's fine tomorrow for the run home.

Sorry to here about your eyes Millie - hope they are able to sort you out soon.

Fortunately we seem to have escaped the rain  here today, but it's certainly a little cooler.  Forcast seems to indicate more rain on the way.

Anyone finding CT very slow tonight?

We've got up to a rather grey, overcast morning here in Worthing. It's not raining at the moment but has been raining on and off through the night. It's reasonably cool though.

I need to go Tesco in-store pharmacy today to collect my prescription, having had a text message from them yesterday afternoon, to say it's ready for collection.

Another day off from work today.

Still raining.  It has rained for 24 hours here. Typical of this country. Once it starts it doesn't know when to stop.

Perhaps they have flown over from the continent. On our recent trip to France, on one site, we had terrible trouble with super glue bird poo.😱It took lots and lots of water in conjunction with a non stick type scourer to shift it.☹️

We went to Tesco to do some shopping and collected my prescription at the same time. After that we went to the town centre market as it was market day today; then returned back to the caravan for a snack lunch of cheese and onion on toast.

The wet weather is continuing with showers starting and stopping and heavy grey cloud. It's gone a bit too warm and muggy this afternoon so the aircon is back on.

It looks like it will continue to rain on and off through the afternoon, so no further plans to go out anywhere.

I think that's either a new challenge in the COTY or a test of scourers for the next magazine?

I found the July edition of the Caravan and Motorhome Club magazine online, which I downloaded. Worthing and Littlehampton sites were featured as seaside breaks. Worthing pier was also mentioned. However, the weather will need to improve for that! I don't think many people will be visiting the pier or the beach whilst it's grey and wet, as it is today!

In the touring section it featured the East Midlands and the Isle of Wight. Slovenia in the foreign touring section.

I just read the article about Welwyn Garden City and the Commons Wood club site. It brought back memories of when we stayed there in 2015. We used it for visiting London but didn't know of all the other attractions mentioned in that article of the local area and town centre.

It will be dinner next, neveramsure! We're trying out a new recipe that we saw on one of the tv food programmes. It's a combination of potatoes, cauliflower, cheese and white fish, to be baked in the oven. It's called the all white recipe which will probably go down well with a bottle of white wine! Well, it's something to do on a wet day when outings don't look terribly inviting.

That recipe sounds a bit like one that we use on occasions.

We always used to boil our cauliflower but now when we have it with cod we bake it in the oven until going golden on top, much tastier.

Filling in time on a wet day is something I'm doing now MM.smile

Sorry Millie, blame me every time we come home it rains frownlaughing

As it happens no rain for us today we had enough yesterday and they say more tomorrow.

Managed to get out in the garden for an hour to dead head the roses, ended up soaking wet but they do look better for it.

Also spent a couple of hours doing admin, booked m/h in for habitation service for October,  house gas boiler service also October, OH's car MOT next week, M/H MOT and vehicle service August. Cancelled home insurance through C&MC (long story) and took out insurance through SAGA.smile

Now I've got that lot sorted + the holiday to Malta, I can think about ferries for end Aug/Sept.laughing should manage another crafty 5 weeks in France again. Gosh this retirement lark is hard work.

This afternoon we went out and had a test drive of a Smart car, pretty sure we wont be getting one though.

OH has removed the habitation door fly screen, the thread that runs through it broke at the bottom while we were away frown it would appear they are prone to this, he is going to try to re-string it himself tomorrow, surprised think I will find something to do to keep me busy and out of his way, seemingly it takes about 5 hours to do.
