Inputting GPS coordinates into Sat Nav
Hi All,
When putting postcodes into our sat nav its pretty easy, however we're doing a tour of France this summer and looking at our MH Sat Nav it wants coordinates in terms of 50°14'28.1"N 3°46'50.4"W as opposed to the 50.241142, -3.780671 which I've seen on google maps. Never done coordinates in terms of west, north etc. Do I enter exactly as written above with all the commas etc? Or do I just enter 50 14 28.1N
Thanks, I know it might seem a dumb question, but never done this before & I don't want to end up in Outer Mongolia

Hi use street rather than city on tomtom it will then ask for city then street plus number post code will only put you general area as they leave one digit out of post code . night mare something to do French law acsi book generally gives you the street name and number to sites hope this helps

I guess your Pioneer will work the same as TomTom so try entering figures with N, W, degrees, feet & inches [symbols]. As said TomTom allows the 2nd method you quote as well. We also travel with a Michelin road atlas for France to check the route as we never totally rely on sat nav. Enjoy your trip to France.

Hi, took your advice and now got a manual via the net.
After reading the manual I've been up to the MH today and through the settings i can input via the latitude and longitude expressed as a decimal like this N 50.241142 W 3.780671 so all now good thanks to everyone for the advice.
