It's an undiscovered  one Taffy where the sole survivor lives in a caravan and when not asleep or eating sausages has somehow made contact with us earthlings.wink

May the air con force be with you. laughing

It probably was when you first got in it but it's not an accurate reading. It's also nowhere near 40.  Even I start to bother when it hits 40

The highest temp in the entire UK today is likely to be 31 and that's not in Worthing.

They say there's no bad weather just the wrong clothes and that applies to hot weather too. Natural fibres, loose layers are what you need along with a cool drink in a shady spot.

Unless you prefer respiratory disease in which case the caravan with a dirty air con system is your best bet

It's 31C near here at Yeovilton same as central London, I see Worthing is 26C.

As far as aircon is concerned here's a bit of info about the problems, (car aircon can also have bacteria building up. )

    Yale research into aircon bacteria.

Talking about cool air, I'm ok, lots of cold drinks and out of the sun. smile

Cream crackered after 7 miles in 30C of warmth.  After our walk at Potter Higham.  We went to NWT Hickling Broad.  Nice to see 91 school children doing a field trip.  Vast majority well behaved and appearing to be interested in the various activities.

Excuse me but just off for a cold showersurprised

Excellent Malcolm, you keep using that aircon 😀 Shut the doors, close the windows, all we need now is for the wifi to go down in Worthing and we're made up 😉

We went to do a walk at Bovey Tracey today. The town calls itself the "Gateway to the Moor", a bit of poetic licence that, although I dare say it brings the tourists in!

Anyway it was a very nice walk along the river with plenty of spots for the dogs to swim and keep cool and then back through a beautiful beech wood to the NT estate at Parke where we had lunch.

A bit of a worrying afternoon though; had to make an emergency appointment at Specsavers because Mrs M was having problems with one of her eyes - apparently she has a "floater" a bit of jelly which has come loose from her retina and means she keeps seeing objects floating in front of that eye. They told her that it's quite common and nothing too concerning as long as it doesn't deteriorate - it will just dissolve of its own accord eventually. So we'll just have to keep a check on it - in the meantime, I know which side of her to stand! smile

Yes it's the big toe on my left foot. I saw a consultant who's chinese he didn't think it was a tumour because it had grown too quickly. He cut away most of the nail and is treating it for a bacterial infection the old fashioned way, with potassium permanganate. So I'm soaking my foot in a deep purple solution and then putting ear/eye drops on it followed by some antibiotic cream. Sounds daft but it might work🤞

I read an article in the paper only last week where a chap had died from Legionella which he caught from his garden hose pipe. He'd left the hose out in the sun and the water in it had reached the perfect temperature to cultivate the bacterium . He'd apparently inhaled the organisms from the spray  given off the next time he used the hose.

    makes you wonder doesn't it.

I've just got up from my afternoon nap having had salmon for lunch. Now time for a cup of tea.

It looks like I can't convince everyone on here  about the merits of air-conditioning. Never mind, only two more days until the summer solstice before the days start drawing in. Then eventually we'll get cooler and darker evenings nature's way!

When Mum had something similar she was advised to use Tea tree essential oil, put a drop on and rub in morning and night. Takes awhile but it has no side effects. The Dr was reluctant  to prescribe  drugs for it at her age. It worked by the way, her nail had gone really thick and yellow and was lifting.

Scorcher here in Luxembourg to, 32c in the van 29c outside in the shade and that's  now at 19.51. No air con wouldn't  want it, noisy things, always park away from folk with them. Reckon we got up to 34c this afternoon. Didn't  stop us going for a 20 mile cycle ride, really enjoyed the ice cream on returnwink

Did 4 loads of washing in my little twin tub this morning, all dry including big bath towels in under 2 hours, tshirts were dry very quick, best new toy laughing

They are a bit of a pain M. I suffer from them periodically to varying degrees. As you said they are quite common. They do vary in how noticeable they are, so must dissolve or reattach. If I turn my head quickly, I often think a fly has shot across the room as the floater moves rapidly across my vision. You do tend to get used to them.

Hot and more humid than yesterday in Notts and fairly cloudy. Weather lady has just said max was 29.6 C. My car was showing 30/31 so reasonably accurate.

Went for a swim at our leisure  club, it was lovely and cool in the water, did not want to get out. Then across to the caravan in storage to sort a few things out. Having been shut up the van was rather hot. Luckily we did not need to go in it for long.

It looks like another hot day tomorrow according to the weather forecast. However, the forecast seems to indicate cooler weather by Thursday and Friday. As I'm working those evenings, it could be a little less uncomfortable than too much exertion in the heat. Although there's aircon in the Smart Car, I still have to go into the kitchen in between orders and with the ovens blasting hot air cooking pizzas, there'll be no respite from the heat.

Can we all send a wave of sympathy to anyone suffering in the heat. Especially those imprisoned in caravans.

But especially those working outside since 5 am.

My poor garden is suffering. Everything is looking so dry and my roses are frying in the sun. We spent quite a while this evening hosing everything. We don't usually like using the hose and rely on the water butts but we decided needs must . Its cooling down now though and is a really lovely evening. So lovely to enjoy the garden during the long summer evenings.

I guess you won't want to park next to us then, Milliehullwink! Our aircon is on all day and all night! Mind you, you could always join us for a drink and a meal if you get too hot cooking in your own caravan.
