Went for a walk around local villages this morning. Due to heat, decided to pick a fairly flat route.
Did about 6-7 miles and took a litre of water. Needed at least double that. Spent a while by the site water tap when we got back, drinking an unfeasable amount of water.......

Hot hot hot !! again at the B/yd,34,,,AND ,I decided to fire up the 'Pizza Oven ' for lunch 
,Mmmm.!! One boat lift today onto a trailer.Last nights 'gig' was scorching ,stinging eyeballs job !! Could have gone better ,but my bass man let me down ,,so had to do it 'solo' ,only did an hour as the temperature got too much !!

That's right, IanH. Summers can be too hot to live without it!
As soon as we got back to Worthing, the first thing we did was plug in the ehu and get the airconditioning switched on. In no time at all, the caravan was lovely and cool inside.
During the journey, we got stuck in traffic approaching Chichester. Once past Chichester the traffic cleared. Perhaps there was some festival there. Nevertheless, it was comfortable in the car with the air-conditioning. Air-conditioning is there to make you comfortable, so why not have it and use it?

We've just finished putting up the awning. The electric oven and hob is set up and breakfast is cooking, sausages, bacon and tomatoes under the electric grill.
Later, we plan to do some shopping in the Tesco Extra just round the corner.
Another lovely sunny day here in Worthing. Not a single cloud in the sky but it's going to be hot!
Well at least we got the awning up whilst it was still cool enough.

I've got to go to the hospital this morning to see a dermatologist. My manky toe is no better. Two lots of antibiotics haven't done anything and I'm now rubbing fungicidal cream in and taking tablets in case it's a fungal infection. The visit this morning is to rule out a tumour at least I hope it'll rule it out . I'm getting a bit fed up with it, it's been going on about 12 weeks now.
Apparently the tablets I'm taking can cause liver damage so they're monitoring my liver function as well and I'll have another blood test on Wednesday.

I noticed that the tarmac was melting in the car parks in town yesterday brue.
I must sort out the bedrooms and make the beds up ready for our son and his family coming over from N.Ireland at the weekend. Not looking forward to it in this heat.

Is it the big toe and is it the actual nail that is causing the problem? I think most medications, even common ones, there is a risk of liver damage so wise for them to check. Hope they get it sorted.

Ready to go (well, actually it's been on the go for a few hours now).
If it's not in your I Spy book of Farm Machines - it's a Forage Wagon. After the grass is mowed, left to wilt a bit, rowed up - this machine picks up and chops, then takes it to the silage pit.

Baking here in Holland, must be at least 30 degrees, thankfully we have enough amps to run the aircon, and the warden said the van would be in the shade by 2pm.
We are on a Dutch caravan club site, the ACSI site we were on last night said they could only take us for 1 night, and the pitch had no shade at all, so we were happy to move on.
The last time we used a NCC site, there was only 4 amps , just enough to run the fridge and lights, we asked how many amps here, but nobody seems to know, and the box is locked. Taking no risks, we have the fridge on gas meantime so we can use the air con until the van is in shade.
Nice site, on an island in the Rhine delta, so about 50km to drive to the ferry on Wednesday. Cost per night seems to be about 16 euros all in.
After lunch we plan a trip to the shops to stock up on things for the next few days

Thank goodness we have 16 amps here on the club site. That just goes to show how much better the facilities are here than abroad. You couldn't run air-conditioning on 4 amps!
We've just finished shopping at Tesco Extra and now back at the caravan with the aircon going. Nice and cool after the sweltering heat outside.
I contacted work to get my duty rota as I'm due back to work on Thursday. The reply was 6 to 10 p.m. Thursday, 6 to 9 p.m. Friday and 5 to 10 p.m. Saturday.
No plans to go out anywhere today. It's far too hot to enjoy anything outside. It's not too bad inside Tesco with their air-conditioning but not as cool as our own caravan air-conditioning.
It's amazing how in this day and age with all the advances in technology, they don't fit air-conditioning in caravans as standard. There should surely be something in health and safety to ban dealers from selling caravans without aircon. People should not have to live in temperatures in excess of 25 degrees, let alone 36 to 40.

I rather suspect health and safety legislation is meant for more important things.
I wouldn't buy a caravan with aircon and if it was fitted I'd remove it. I spend as little time as possible in air conditioned environments.
I like the heat. We don't get enough of it. Don't assume that everyone starts wilting as soon as it reaches mid 20s because we don't. It's not hot until mid 30s so stop the whining and enjoy it

People can collapse with heat stroke and need hospital treatment because of excessive heat. It is not unusual in the UK summers. It's about time health and safety got involved in regulating matters so that elderly people don't have to suffer in this way. Every home should have air-conditioning and maybe hot weather payments in the same way as cold weather payments to help people afford to stay comfortable and healthy in these hot summers.

And perhaps there should be regulations to install central heating in all houses.
Just as daft an idea as making air conditioning compulsory in caravans. If you're inside a small tin (etc) box, with no ventilation it is bound to get hot.
As an alternative "off the wall" suggestion - why not buy a potted tree and carry that round with you. You can sit under it, and if you choose wisely it might even produce apples to help your food bill.
In case you haven't realised that was said tongue in cheek. Mostly.

What hot summers? We get a couple of days every year where it gets to a decent temperature and then it starts raining.
Air conditioning is unhealthy. I'll never allow it in my home. If you want it then pay for it and stop assuming the rest of us are similarly afflicted.

What's unhealthy about air-conditioning, Jayess, when it saves your life by preventing heat stroke?
What you need is a cooling tower in your home with cooling vents into each room, the equivalent of central heating except in air-conditioning.

Yes but again technology can prevent it through proper maintenance and servicing. Doesn't legionnaires disease happen mostly in hotels that try to cut costs by not maintaining their systems to a sufficiently high enough standard?

All I can say is that whilst the outside temperature is 36 to 40 degrees, I'm sitting inside the caravan enjoying watching the view and the blue sky through the window without having to suffer the heat to go with it because I can reduce the temperature to 16 degrees inside my caravan.

I can understand the need for air conditioning in offices etc (where there are regulations re working environment).
But, no one is forced to sit inside a caravan all day. It's a leisure pursuit, in a vehicle manufactured for part time occupancy.
And how about tents? Will they have to have Air Con as well?
