Hi we're staying in the La Venise Verte site at Coulon France this summer and we would like a Vet nearby to administer the treatment for our Dog prior to our return to the UK. Can anyone please offer any recommendations.

Thanks

Google suggests a Dr Stas at Niort but gives the names of half a dozen others in the area. Your best recommendation will probably be from the campsite owners when you get there.

I agree with ET to get recommendations but I have also just walked into a vets near campsites and all has been well.  This year I used my brother's vet again and she was very thorough.  At one stage of this trip one dog was not 100% so I called in a nearby vet for their card in case I had to call - luckily all was well but it felt good to have the number in case she went downhill.  Most campsites do seem to have a vet's number included in the information somewhere though.

I would email the campsite and ask them.  Campsites generally have a list of 'services' somewhere in reception - Doctor, Dentist, Vet, etc., and that usually means that those listed have some experience of dealing with other languages.

And ask how much the Vet charges.

One guy was charged €70 by a Vet in France earlier this year.

Yes, there's a huge difference in what people are charged.  My son paid just eleven euros, and was given a free Scalibor collar to try, too - a sample which the vet had been given by a Rep.  I think the vet liked his dog, and said he had a very similar one.
