Hi everyone,

We are travelling to France in July possibly via the tunnel and were wondering if there is any overnight parking at the terminal like there is at some ferry ports. regards John.

No, they ask that you arrive a maximum time prior to your booking (maybe about 2 hours?). Your booking confirmation should state this.

There is a car park for caravan / motorhomes, but I doubt they'd let you stay overnight.

Once we arrived about 9pm and were politely sent on our way off the Terminal and told to return no more than 2 hours before our booked time of 6am.

We were given the option of booking a train, anytime between 9pm and our allotted time, but they'd like lot of our money to book it – we declined.

We parked on South Road Hythe (about ten minutes drive from the Terminal), had Fish and Chips, a nightcap, a decent nights sleep and a walk with the dog in the park on South Road before returning to the Terminal at about 5am.

If you do turn up very early prepare to have Plan B ready to use.

Domscap, I don't know where you live, but if you think you can get to Folkestone in an evening then change your booking now and make that evening crossing. There are plenty of places to stay on the other side - and that gives you a head start to move on in the morning .
