Adult Only Club Sites

As the last thread on this subject was closed, because it drifted away from its central subject of 'how to book' such sites, I thought it would be appropriate to start a thread to specifically discuss whether the CAMC (and indeed, tbe C&CC) should try the idea of adult only sites.

To start off, I would say that this format appears to be very popular. As the two big clubs are attempting to be more 'commercial' in their approach and operation (why else would they spend millions on a re-brand?) then why wouldn't they try this format out on a few sites, to start with?

There was no need to close the previous thread. Bad enough struggling with the software. Every time I clicked on this thread I have been getting the duplicate!!

To turn all CC sites into Adult only may well suit some. The idea is ridiculous though. There is at least one (if not two) affiliated sites that are AO. There are also Affiliated sites with AO areas.

I don't believe that the club should go down the route of making some sites adult only.

I pay the same membership fee as everyone else but I wouldn't get equal access to sites. Membership fees should be reduced to families to reflect the lack of choice offered in comparison to that available for adult only groups

Should either club have AO sites? Have you completely lost the plot, Ian, or are you trying yet another big stir? It's rather as if you've been taking lessons.

Every business decides what it's target market is ,and this business has decided it's market is family's and not exclude anyone , I think that there is enough different clubs sites to find a quieter one if that is what someone needs

OK, Ian, I'll bite and take your OP seriously. So two questions -

Which CAMC sites do you suggest going AO (surely not the one you're staying on at the moment? wink )

Have you written to Sandy Balls or Woolacombe Sands suggesting they go AO?

    Just asking! smile

To those who say there are enough adult only commercial sites out there.......presumably there are also plenty of commmercial sites that take children.

Please try to desist from the usual personal comments and keep the discussion reasonable and factual.

What makes you think that going to an adults only site will give anyone a respite from "children!wink

Not quite sure what you interpret as the "usual personal comments" Ian. But I do notice that you avoided answering either of my questions which would certainly have contributed to the thread staying "reasonable and factual".

    Care to enlighten us?

Most Club Sites are AO outside of school holidays, bar the odd baby or toddler too young for school. Better to change your holiday dates rather than penalise a large section of the membership.

There are hundreds of other AO site options out there as well, just need to break away from Club Sites a bit more. Mix things up a little, live life closer to the unknown, it really is  a nicer way to tour and holiday.

In fairness, there are also hundreds of other child friendly sites out there.

Yes there are. Why do you want the Club to try AO Sites Ian? Genuine question.

There are loads of child friendly sites and people use them. Most children I've seen on this clubs sites are staying with grandparents. More families on the other clubs sites.

Making some sites AO doesn't fit with the club's new 'inclusive' buzzword though so I can't see it happening.

IanH , surely if the club were to try out some AO  sites where would they then draw the line?.What about other groups such as naturist groups , men only , women only  it's neverending. lm sure there are sites that cater for all these groups and more ,just don't expect the CMC to join them . Sermon over.😇😇

It is useless I agree. Click on the date of the active thread, the one with more posts, that seems to work easier. If there is a mod out there, perhaps they could lock the other?

Know what, this is more trouble than it's worth especially over such a subject which will end up going down the pan.

Yep.  No wonder CT is dying a slow death. Activity levels are probably at an all time low as folks just give up in frustration at it all.

Perhaps that is the long term plan. Focus on TwitFace instead.

I've done that but all I can get are the 2nd & now 3rd page. If it wasn't for the CL section I'd give Ct up completely!!

You haven't missed much Alan! It's been a bit like something out of the Nicola Sturgeon school of debate - ask the same question repeatedly and ignore the majority of answers until, possibly, you get the one you want!! laughinglaughing

Well, what a shambles of a forum.

I assume (because I can't view most posts) that most people agreed with my sensible suggestion (except the usual few, of course) and look forward to the inevitable start of a trial of adult only sites.
