Parc La Clusure,
My wife and I decided to camp at the above site, for a change. We love the Belgian Coast, but used this as a reccy for the summer holidays with the grandchildren.
When logging into their web page, we sensed that things were different to anything we had previously experienced, eg
a. pitch reservation at 18 euros, b. car registration details prior to arrival. Well, totally gullible, we went ahead and booked.
Dazed after the crazy approach, similar to the obscure sites in Scotland or Cornwall, the car recognition system didn’t recognise us, and we waited for our escort and guide.
The approach to our pitch was narrow, car lined and watched by the current 5 families. Our pitch was the last in a row and next door to an enclave of 6 fully occupied mobile home units. Our pitch was also their car park. The rep hastily set off in search of car owners. My wife and I shuddered, frantically thinking of an escape route. The rep thought all was well, until I said it was just awful, nothing like what we imagined, and we will leave as soon as we can extricate from the position where we couldn’t turn 90 degrees, and reversing options were too risky.
As I moved forward, it happened, I did make contact with a car!. The whole of the enclave and our would be neighbours came for the spectacle. Nothing too serious, uncoupled unit with assistance, and managed to extricate to a pitch on the circuit road. The rep thought we might like the new pitch and radioed through that we were accommodated.
Not likely, we beat a hasty exit, heading for the coast, and spent the next 4 days with beautiful weather, marvelling at our lucky escape. Having spent less than an hour, in a holiday village, which is a dire place to be, not a campsite, we have, of course, asked for our money back. We’ll keep you posted.
Please advise prospective travellers that this is a site that requires some considerations before accepting their T&Cs.
Kind Regards
Graham and Penny French

Yes, thank you Val Da! The site was Parc La Clusure, in the Belgian Ardennes. They have yet to respond to the request for a refund. Regards

I have added the site name to your original post.

Hi, if we had reviewed the site it would have been positive and just shows how things change and/or can be viewed differently. We have stayed at La Clusure three times the first in 1990 and last in 2009 but only for one night and using Camping Cheques twice after a stay there with Eurocamp.
I would probably not return now as there are better options but it is an ACSI site so still good value for an overnighter.
