Calor Lite being phased out from July 2017
I know a lot of us touring abroad use Calor Gas Lite to maximise our payloads, so thought this was of interest.
Calor Gas Being Phased Out - bottle durabiity problems
They may bring out another product to replace it in 2018.
We have only just got another CalorLite bottle, and from useage of the last one it will be five or six years or so before it needs replacing........ but perhaps we should bite the bullet and change it now as otherwise it may not be accepted as a 'swap' when we need a refill.

Having swapped to Safefill, I have a couple of full Calorlites if anyone wants to 'future-proof' their gas supply.

with such a tiny usage (and therefore cost) per year, does it matter at all.
whats the worst that can happen, they dont accept it and you get charged a bit more for a new bottle?
the alternative is to give them back six years worth of gas now....
one way it will 'cost' you the bottle and no gas, the other way it will cost you your full supply of gas.
i really dont think you have a problem, Val, its peanuts either way over six years....

I currently have one lite and one standard, and the lite is so much easier to get in and out the locker. I had been thinking of getting the other changed. So all this decision is going to do is make me look at switching to Safefill. I can see Calor loosing a fair bit of custom with this decision. I would have thought a more sensible marketing decision would have been to have the new lite cylinder in place before phasing out, with a free swap option. That way they would have a better chance of keeping some of there older customers, who are finding the standard bottles a little on the heavy side.

The last paragraph of my post was meant to be tongue in cheek. Sorry if it was misunderstood.
I posted more in the way of informing others rather than asking for a solution! Like you've all said, I don't think we have anything to worry about!

This is already being discussed here so rather than have a duplicate thread I will close this one.
