Got a problem with my Alde heating, the first time l had this problem was in March of this year on site at Bridlington, contacted Alde has my dealer couldn't help. They explained it was the 12volt cable to the control box on top of the boiler, they said to remove the connection which like the telephone connections and put it into the spare connection at the side of the one it was already in and see if it cleared the problem, it did. They told me to tell the dealer at the next service to check out the system. Here's my problem, leaving site last week the wife was lowering the temp on the Alde control panel and notice the same alarm Connection failure, not a problem l thought fetch the service forward by 5 weeks and have it done before our next Holiday not a chance, snowed under with work so we will have to wait 9 weeks before we can have it sorted. Has anyone experienced this problem on theirs and what was the problem. l am about to ring Alde to see if they have service engineers that can help, the reason for using the dealer is that its still under warranty and all warranty claims need to go through the dealership. l am willing to pay a service engineer to find the fault and order the parts but not willing to pay for any cost incurred by said parts. l am hoping its bad connections. Anyone one can help with advice greatly appreciated

Thanks Belero Boy at moment its hissing down here in Cheshire that was my next move. but it don't solve the problem l agree with you its acting like an hot boot, Alde  they seemed to think it was a connection problem wither with the cable or the board.. Hope you are right that they may have service engineers that can do it on site. Thanks for your help

Went to try to solve the problem of connection failure to boiler, powered up the van switched everything on no connection failure, so Bolero boy it could be that you were right and its rebooted it self. Wasn't happy as l don't know why we had the fault in the first place, rang Alde who fear it may happen again and advised continuity check of the 12 v cable from the controller. This doesn't help has l can't get my van to the dealers until its service is due mid July. So no trips out till then, 12 weeks without the van, time the caravan industry became customer focussed

Heethers your warranty is with your dealer, you can however choose another NCC approved workshop, I use a mobile approved engineer who handles my servicing and any warranty claims ay my home address

Alde had put me on to a caravan engineer but his cost is 60 quid callout for the first hour Alde will only pick up the cost for the parts the dealer will stand all the cost, plus the engineer couldn't do it until the 16th of June, may has well wait the extra 3 weeks. Already missed a quarter of this good weather.

    What make is the van?

I have a Bailey and they are happy to have service / repairs / warranty work done by any recognised workshop (ie recognised by the industry association, I forget the name).

We were planning to go away we have a fan heater but on my pre check of the van found a small leak on one of the push fittings, not sure what's caused it, if its one thing its another so decided to wait for the service and everything done. Up to now we have had a new wiring loom fitted to the toilet as it wouldn't flush new microwave which never worked from day one, what's needed to be done Alde heating continuity check of 12v system from controller to boiler connection, new door blind and new grab handle light and now a leak on the water system, seems every time l go in the van l find something wrong. When we started with our old two berth  bright star that we purchased repaired all the faults myself apart from a leaking window but of course you can't touch van that's under warranty. Once all's put right seriously thinking of giving it up. If the caravan industry monitor this site they should be a shamed of their product that they produce, l think they don't even take notice or couldn't care less
