Hi Mitsi,
We have 2 sites that we work with near to Beziers but they are to the West so not near the villages you mentioned. Here are the links for you to check them out.......le-domaine-de-la-dragonniere site and domaine-de-la-yole site.
Best Regards
Tracy

Have a look at Camping L 'Oliveraie, on the outskirts of Laurens. We have often stayed there en route homewards from our Winter break in Spain as it opens very early in March. At that time of year, there is only 1 shower and 1 loo cubicle open and it's fair to say they are not very good. However, we did return here once at a different time of year when more pitches were available on the lower level and the shower blocks open there were of a much better standard.
It's a pretty site though, and very peaceful. It accepts the ACSI discount card - 17 a night this year.

Mitsi, Tracey gave you two to the west of Beziers and we have stayed at two to the east - both very different.
Camping Beau Rivage at Meze is four star, on the lagoon, has a swimming pool and a proper bar/restaurant in the season, and is within walking distance of the village and a supermarket. The municipal site at Loupian is two star, a little way inland, requires a car or a bike , has no pool, but does have a wooden hut where the local fishing families cook seafood to order.
Of the two we preferred that second one, but they are probably still not in the right place for you. Sorry.

There is Camping Municipal La Pinede, in Alignan du Vent. which is west of Aigues-Vives. A friend of ours who owns a restaurant in a town near us here in Yorkshire, has her family home there. It's a nice little town - the site is cheap enough, and you get a reduction on entrance to the municipal swimming pool. You can get a great red wine there - a 'Vielle Vignes' as well as a lovely white - sorry can't remember the name.
The only downside is that it's only open in July and August, like many smaller municipal sites.
You might also have a look at Domaine de Montrose, near Tourbes, which is a vineyard with a campsite.
I don't know if you've visited Pezenas - it's lovely on market day, Saturday, but also worth a wander around the old streets when it's a bit quieter.

Thank you Val. I will investigate further.

Val. Do you mean Pic Pol? We used to live not too far from Laurens/St Chinian There is a municipal in Cessenon sur Orb - by the river Orb, very basic but very convenient for the lovely village (20 mis from Beziers) only open July and August. Camping Les Terraces (formerly St Chinian Municipal) nice site with a small pool and a supermarket 200 mtrs away, open until end October; walking distance to St Chinian where there are some nice restaurants, again 20 mins from Beziers. There is a site at Roquebrun just north of Cessenon, a beautiful little village with a couple of good restaurants (Petite Nice is recommended book a table outside); the site has a difficult access and always looks busy - I have never used it. The site at Laurens is nice. And I can thoroughly recommend a visit to Pezenas.
If you want any more info on this area just ask; Val and I know it very well.

Just had another thought. Although not too near Aigues Vives/Beziers there is a reasonable site at Trebes just east of Carcassonne. Alignan and St Chinian are the nearest sites to Aigues.
Mitsi, when are you going as this may influence our suggestions.

It wasn't PicPoul I was referring to, but a wine specifically produced in Alignan Les Vent. I'll find the name next time we pop into Monkmans in Ilkley (recommend the restaurant too, for their lunchtime 'Prix Fixe' menu.
I wonder if I assumed the correct Aigues Vives, as there is one near Cabrerolles, and another near to Minerve. I assumed the first one.......... but may be wrong.

The Aigues -Vives I need is the one near to Beziers around 5 km from Laurens.

Well done Val! Found it; it looks a VERY small hamlet! Laurens is your nearest site. Roquebrun next. Although we never went to Aigues-Vives we know the area well (hence our Avatar!); just get yourselves lost on some of those narrow roads and you will get some splendid views over vineyards . We had friends who lived in Margon, Laurens and Neffies - all pretty little villages. There are sites at Bedarieux and Lamalou les Bains (both in CC book) although I have never seen them. The drive through the Orb Valley from Cessenon to Vieussan Is lovely, stop at Ceps, Go to Olargues; we were never very impressed with St Pons. Don't forget lunch at Petite Nice in Roquebrun.

Thank you to everyone you has replied with suggestions. I will certainly explore them all. We cross to Le harve on 6th June so I would expect to be in the area around the 9th or 10th. Hoping to meet up with some old friends that we have not seen for 34 years.
