tv power supply from battery
I have just bought a TV for our motorhome but the battery connection for 12V use is via the cigarette socket which cannot be used when engine is off. where can I get a 2 pin connector to plug in to use leisure battery when not on electric hook up?

hope ive understood your post correctly, but a normal live 12v socket in the habitation area wouldnt be a '2 pin' socket, it will be very similar to the cigarette socket, but permanently live.
if your van is continental, sometimes these sockets are referred to as 'DIN' sockets as we have in our van, in which case you need a slightly different plug.
sounds like you just need to find it, normally adjacent to the 'tv point'.

the tv was only supplied with the connector described. You are right there is a 2 pin socket on the control board in the motorhome. what I would like to know is where to get a 2 pin (din) connector from

Caravans often use a 12v plug/socket which has two flat pins (of slightly different size). Is this the type you need on your M/H?
If so, readily available at caravan shops, or EBAY. (I much prefer them to the horrible cigar-lighter sockets). I doubt you will find an 'adapter' for the existing lead, but simply (and far better) cut off the old plug, and fit the new one.....being careful of the polarity.

Vic, Thanks for the link, ive certainly learned something.
certainly, none of our 4 MHs had plugs/sockets like that...

Those flat pin plugs used to be far more common than they are today. I think the last cvan we had with the matching socket fitted was probably from the 1990s.
Maplins may be another source of supply but certainly the ones on eBay are as I remember them.

Thanks to all who offered advice. I have now managed to obtain a conversion adapter from a local caravan shop. All I need to do now is try it when next out in the motorhome
