So after years of towing my beloved 1993 SWIFT CHALLENGER back an fourth to the South Coast of France with the odd stop over in London and DisneyLand for the Kids :) Im looking on storing her hopefully in the south of France. Cut down on the travel and costs so to speak, and ease more of the saved time into actually enjoying my caravan. So do any of my fellow CC members know of any good storage facility's in the south of the country.

We have ours in storage in the Ardeche region, and before that near Chateauroux.  Our storage is in a secure compound adjacent to a campsite, in the Ardeche region.  The cost is 185 euros per year, and then they will tow the caravan to a pitch of our choice when we want to use it, or we can pick it up and take it off to other campsites.  If it's on a pitch then we simply tell them we are leaving, wind up the steadies, and they take it back into the storage area.

The storage cost is 185 euros a year.  We would have preferrred undercover storage, but as our Swift is now 17 years old we just use a caravan cover when we leave it.

The site is family run, has a smallish heated pool, nice clean sanitary blocks, one heated in low season, a bar and restaurant, a small shop with bread and essentials, and there are a couple of restaurants within a short walk, a cycle path opposite the campsite, and a river where we can use our canoe at the bottom of the site.  It's near to Vallon Pont d'Arc and Ruoms.  It has only a short open season - 1st April the mid-September, though they have said we could bring the caravan back after the campsite itself has closed............ we haven't done that yet.  They speak a reasonable amount of English.

There are an abundance of storage facilites in the South - do a web search for the town you want and add "Hivernage". From what I have learnt they are usually very efficient, and with it being in the warm dry south you don't get many mustiness from over winter storage.
