Heading to Monza in Italy for the F1 Grand Prix  planning to over night in Germany and France on the way south, then a week on Lake Como and a week in Switzerland on the way back apart from booking the race site is there any need to book in advance for sites in Italy, Switzerland or Germany for the first 3 weeks in September.

You might need to book for Monza but I doubt there is much need elsewhere. The first week of September is still German school holidays but many sites used for overnight stops have a good turnover of pitches each day. If we get away we will cross over during the last week of August but don't intend to book.

There is definitely no need to pre-book sites in September in the countries you intend visiting. August is the only month where pre-booking is advised and only then in the most popular areas.
