Can you get a satellite dish to pick up British tv in Spain,   Or is there any other way?

You can but if you want normal UK terrestrial channels you would need a pretty big dish. For SKY programmes you can manage with a smaller dish. It depends on how long you are staying at the site in question but some offer a service via their own large dishes but that is very site specific. Another option, if you have a good internet connection is to use something like Filmon which allows you to view UK programmes on your computer.

we stayed in Almeria (Roquetas de Mar) a few weeks ago and were receiving Sky Sports/Movies on our 85cm dish, however no 'std' UK home channels, other than the various scores of rubbish, lol....

im guessing you will need a 1.2 - 1.5m dish for the beeb.....

If you have wifi you can get BBC iPlayer on your phone and you can connect your phone to your TV using a lightening cable and a HDMI lead.  You will have to download an App called Tunnel Bear which is very easy to configure and which then shows your phones VPN as being in the UK.  That way you can get BBC iPlayer and also most Netfix films and TV programmes.  Tunnel Bear costs £9.99 a month

doesnt the above require a shedload of data?

with a good wifi signal or loads of data and a good 3/4g signal you can use filmon.com to watch live tv (incl uk channels) but again it depends on cost of data in a phone/sim contract...
