This should see a shake up of the circus following Bernie's departure. Given some of his dealings over the years, I suspect there are a few who are happy to see 'F' one.

    Maybe with Ross Brawn boss as technical boss we may get decent engines less areo, driver input, less trackside interference and more overtaking.  Not going to happen straight away though.  In future years we may get terrestrial viewing back.

    I boubt if terrestrial tv would put a dent in the 8+billion USD paid out by Liberty. No doubt paid for with loans that will be paid back from the F1 coffers similar to Man U paying back the Glaziers loan to buy the club.

    Bernie must be struggling now to make ends meet, with all members of his family only being multi billionaires.

    Interesting to see if the Liberty Group will ensure lesser teams get a fairer share of the money.

    Coming  late  to this  thread,  but  I  was  pleased  to 

    see  some  comments  with  respect  to  Silverstone

    and  the  possibility / probability  of  F1  continuing  there

    Weird  Item  on  BBC Text  yesterday   about  the  possibility  of  Grands Prix  taking  place  on  public  roads if  the  Councils  etc  grant    permission  ==  now  that  could  shift  some  rubbish  off  the  M1

    Hope  a  certain  F1  ( Ex - retired )  driver  is  getting  a bit  of  practice  in  before  he  takes  on  Monaco  shortly   surprised  !!

    It's not  the  place  for  a  "Slow  Coach  Geriatric"  to  start  playing  innocent

    I think I would be prepared to put my money on him compared to some young rookie!!! It's a place where you need experience and he lives there so he knows the place intimately. It must be a scary track to drive on. I have walked round part of it and its so tight!!!

    We went to Monaco in 2005, very exciting. Simon took us behind the scenes on the Thursday.

    There is quite a few Monaco first timers in the teams this season, should make an interesting race.

    I hope Jenson Button does well, he never got the car/team he deserved.

    As for Alonso, . . . . I won't miss him

    Still the boring procession !  If it wasn't for Max Verstappen, IMHO, it wouldn't be worth watching at all.  Tend to only record now so I can run through the 99% boring bits !

    Lucky dive into the pits when the safety car came out.

    Nonsensical 5 second penalty for Hamilton, he would have won if not for that, his skill proven in the later stages. 14.6 second gain in 3.5 laps??? Man he was flying!

    The luck wasn't with him in China, no Vettel drove a suburb race beating Hamilton into the first corner.

    Hamiltons penalty was deserved, speed fluctuations of 57 to 75kph, Martin Brundle predicted the move would attract a penalty.  Even without the penalty I don't believe that Hamilton would have won.

    Oh dont get me wrong, Vettel drove a blinder, I like the chap.

    But as DC said, the pit lane is part of the track, so you can pick your position on it, it wasn`t as if he held up the red bull for any length of time, 1 or 2 seconds at most, I replayed it several times.

    But having said all that, I just wish the pit stops and general stratergy should be dealt with by driver choice instead of some techy pushing buttons, and barking in his ear.........

    I`m sure Kimi Raikkonen would agree with me !! laughinglaughinglaughing
