Not sure they have spent that much, it depends how much was put out to consultants. As far as the logo is concerned it was probably done by a five year old for a lollipop. If they paid for it they should demand the money back with interest.

Just been to Merrose Farm. Some of the signs are up including the one facing the main road, but there are some of the old green ones still about.  But as others have said, the site is still immaculate and outwardly, little changed.

But I still remain of the opinion that this is a cost that should not have been incurred as it must be significant.

Noticed the old sign at local CC. Think the tea drinkers forgot about the bilingual needs here or the biscuits ran out before they got that far.  Its the "better" club after all.

The C&MC is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the CC. Does this mean all the assets have been transferred and it can be sold off or floated to the benefit of the shareholders of Caravan Club Limited?

Meanwhile every last piece of signage is being replaced on the sites we've been on recently. The wardens at Warwick only had new 'tops' but not new trousers, so that's a saving on costs.

From what I can gather, the uniforms and signs were due for renewal anyway - I think they do them as a matter of course every so often.

The other info I have heard is that the Club has seen a good increase in membership since the change of name.  There are reports that some motorhomers were not aware that they could join the Caravan Club until the name was changed to CAMC.

    It does sound like propaganda.

How do they know these motorhomers didn't realise they could join - especially if they joined online.

Was it one person at the NEC I wonder wink

Sorry David but "marketing speak" to try to justify the "rebrand"  and as All the signs were replaced a couple of years ago after a long period by a "new" colour that falls flat

And there has always been an increase in membership this time of year (from a warden two days ago)who is also on the brink of jumping ship because of the the grief that site staff are getting with no support from EG

With the snails pace that the club move at there is no way they will have facts and figures yet and they would have to be asking every new member why they have joined.

You couldn't make it up 2

Staying at club site this w/end.  Signage from one direction easily missed if you don't know site is there. Has to be the new rubbish logo !!

Signage from other direction , same structure, but old sign still in situ.Visible from a great distance.

On the 28th March I emailed the club asking for the statistics of how many members were asked re. the change of logo and how many agreed with it. Apart from an acknowledgment of email NOTHING.frown.

    Funny that!

Now talk of changing the club magazine. What is it with these people "if it ain't broke leave it alone"!

Just back from a CL in the Cotswolds. On one side of the gateway was the new sign and on the other side the old sign. No prizes for guessing which stood out the most.

The writing on the new sign is so small you have to be within just a few feet to be able to read it. The old sign on the other hand is totally readable from quite a distance. On the road from Chipping Norton towards Moreton there is another CL which appears to only have the old sign on display. This could be read very clearly as we drove past at about 50mph.

Looking at the new sign from very close up I see that it is not only supposed to look like planks of white painted wood but it also has the woodgrain in it.  What is the point of that apart from costing far more and so more profit for the signmaker.

Wardens uniforms or PPE will no doubt be part of their pay and conditions so will be issued every 12 months of course there will be an extra cost of setting up the new logo to be embroided on the uniform

When I was working my PPE was issued as and when required. Some items lasted several years, some only a day.

sounds like a c**k up to me......and I guess some university graduate with a degree in sales and marketing was paid thousands for his ideas....money well spent....One of the basics I learnt in my sales carer was that you cannot sell anything to anyone unless they have a need for it, and it was up to me find a need for them to want it....... So I ask was there a need for the change within the club?SG2

Just back from St Davids, even the 5mph signs have been rebranded. What was  revealing that last week was a school holiday. There were no more than half a dozen kids on site and those seem to be with grandparents. The site offers kids discounts and there is a brand new super play area. Immediately adjacent is a commercial site. It was full with a mix of Vans, M/H and tents. The place has heaving with kids, enough to make up football teams. I dont know what the fee structure was for next door but it certainly appealed to families. What I ask is, why did the HO tea drinkers waste our monies on rebranding whilst apparently ignoring the need to recruite younger generations? The CC site was occupied by us golden oldies.

At the weekend I was enjoying a coffee with some of my family in a local cafe when I noticed that there was something different about the small Co-op supermarket opposite.  We discussed this for ages until we realised the difference was the corporate colour had been changed from green to blue. Signs, logos, all the branding, frames for the poster advertisments, etc had all stayed exactly as before but the colour was now different.

Perhaps someone has moved on from The Caravan Club . . . ?

I think enough has been said about the "new tulip in a vase" signs without me repeating past posts, but on a recent visit to Abbey Wood there was something missing on entering the site,I rememebered later it was the large Centenary block engraved with the customary Red Pennant and Abbey Wood name.

Surely one of the best advertisement or branding marques now banished forever.

I can't figure out why it has been done we have been told we are moving forward with a new name & logo but in the next breath we are told its the same old club and nothing has changed. Talking to our friends who have motorhomes they would have preferred the money spent on more motorhome service points than a rebrand that appears not to be a rebranded or is it? I must admit that when our kids were young we went to the commercial sites.

Yes it suited us fine being child free but I was thinking of the bigger picture. The club spent oodles on a new name  but seem go have forgotten the basics again, Where do the new members come from?
