Domaine De Soleil Plage Route.
Hi,we will be travelling from Beziers area to Domaine SP in June. We are a car and caravan and 8m MH.
I have looked at the route options, and seen recommendations on CT, and the A75 to North of Millau then across to DSP is looking favourite but looking at the roads in Google maps street view raises the question-is it better to approach from the West, Vitrac, or from the East, Carsac-Aillac?
It looks like the route from Vitrac direction is better,and thinking of cutting across to the D46 at Gourdon, but what do those who have used the site think?

From junction 42 of A75 the road via Rodez and Decazeville is fine. It's twisty as you approach Figeac but take the new by pass on the south side of that town, beware the vicious speed jumps in the village of Cambes, then another good stretch of road to join the A20 at junction 56. Don't be tempted to go via Gourdon from there but go north on the A20 to junction 55 and approach Soleil Plage from there.

These were the notes I made in my site report on the final approach to the campsite:-
"Getting to the site requires care from both directions! From south or east on D704 turn left onto D703 at Carsac signed for Montfort. This road has high rock face on one side and is fairly narrow although two vehicles can pass but care is required. Near Montfort watch out for some stripe signs to Soleil Plage and turn left to the campsite, passing canoe station on right. From Sarlat take D46 south signed for Vitrac and La Roque Gageac. At Vitrac don’t take first left to village but continue for another 100 metres or so and turn left signed for Carsac. This road follows the rock face on the left for a short distance. Take first road on right signed with strip signs to campsite. At T junction turn right for the campsite, details as above. Once at the campsite there is plenty of parking space in order to wait whilst booking in. Reception is closed between midday and 2.00pm."
If you wanted an easier route than the A75 you could always use the A61 to Toulouse and then the A20 north? It might be slightly longer but better roads but it does involve tolls which you might want to avoid?

Hi David, it was looking at you website info,and comments from et on routes, that led to my question!
The route to Toulouse is probably not an option due to the size, and hence the charges, for our MH friends.

But the road from Beziers toToulouse via Carcassonne without using the motorway is very easy, the Toulouse and Montauban by pass motorway stretches are toll free, and the old N20 going north alongside the A20 is still good.
Is that a possibility if your friends with a large Motorhome want to avoid the long climb going north on the A75 ?

Hi et, currently on a rally and struggling to see the route via Carcassonne so will have a closer look when back at home.
No issue with the A75, it's the tolls at class 3 that's the issue but it's a six of one half a dozen of the other as I avoid French villages due to the numerous traffic control measures, that are not caravan friendly, and the millions of roundabouts.
Will get on Viamichelin when able, to get cost details again, but think it's app €40 for class 2 going Autoroute via Carcassonne.
We may need to toss a coin!

allanandjean, In the last 4 yrs, we have twice driven the the route from Spain via Narbonne, Carcassonne, Toulouse with a 7.3m caravan to Soliel Plage without tolls (after Perpignan) or problems, and I would always choose it against the A75 travelling north. The difficult bit for me is the last bit to the site from Sarlat. We will be using the route again this year in mid June
