What a lovely day we are away in the van and took a lovely drive down to PortPatrick today which is a lovely little harbour village. Now back on site and about to get the Cadac out for the first time this year to cook some nice looking steaks so sitting out with a nice beer what could be better lol

£100 pounds!!! we only use services for the loo (always one at a time) second one brings a hot drink back to c/van where we have a sandwich (already made)and always fill up with fuel before dep from last site stop,or at first supermarket always found it easy to fill with the c/van on the hook

We just get organised the day before. Only if going over about 300 miles would we need to fill anyway, and if there is a supermarket one at a junction, which is quite common, we use that.
Good Tesco at J43 on the M6, which we often top up at.
We use our own toilet too when we stop for lunch. Always have a couple of litres in the flush tank.

The only time we have ever been that close to a new born calf was years ago on a Farm CL in Derbyshire, and we gave a hand when a cow was having trouble giving berth in a field and the farmer had a rope to pull the calf out so OH and I helped to pull while he did his bit at the "sharp end"it almost? made us veggies when the calf stood and suckled with her ears still flat

Another really lovely day today, bit of food shopping this morning. Dropped in to see big sister, then home to have lunch before we started working outside again.
First, repair to one of the concrete windowsills outside. Refit the gate now all the refurb has been done. Paint one half of the fence across the front of the house. Front garden now looking good.
Into back garden, tidy up one of the cotoneasters, chop off the old tall branches of the Pieris, bottom of the bush is coming along nice. Tidy up one of the Clematis and dig out Staghorn Sumac and all that was just on one bed. Still got one last bed to finish, hopeful to get it done tomorrow. Next week I will start on the van first thing clean the inside.

Lovely day here too, been packing the car for our trip. Takes a bit of getting used to putting things in different places from in the Volvo, need to work out a new packing regime. We have most things in now, OH says it looks strangely empty, so we are wondering what we have forgotten!
We have even put the little washing machine in the car rather than in the caravan, so that is 10kg saved, plus not taking the breadmaker has saved another few kilos. Spares have been slimmed down, plus some other stuff will be left out, so we must have 20kg less in the van, only another 20kg to lose!

Blue sky, not a cloud in the sky, 20 degrees.......and an absolutely rubbish day for flying
There was an inversion layer up to about 2,500 ft (a layer of warm air above cooler air nearer to the ground - the reverse of what is 'normal' - which traps all the dust and muck in the air and creates haze).
It was like trying to fly through soup.
Twice we set off and both times we turned back, as it just wasn't safe.
Drat.

Quick visit from our daughter this morning to pick up the plants we bought her and bring me a spare head for the towing mirrors.
She did find time to help us put the Fiamma on the van, and fix OH's laptop on/off switch before rushing off to lunch. Tomorrow is their 1st wedding anniversary, so they had lunch at the place where the wedding was held, and are having dinner out tomorrow.
We will see her again on Monday for "final hugs" as they are off to Amsterdam on Tuesday for a few days, and we leave on our 12 week trip before they return.

As long as this year is better health wise for the OH I won't be complaining.
Time does seem to be going oh so much faster these days but the work doesn't seem to be getting done any faster when we retired I thought I was in for an easier time Ha! that was a joke.

Our first day back at Worthing and we've got up to another lovely, sunny morning! We've just had a pot of tea and some cereal for breakfast. We plan to do some shopping at Tesco Extra today as there's not much food left! As it's Sunday, it won't be open until 11 a.m. and then closes at 4 p.m.

Oh what a lovely welcome home you've arranged. What a lucky lady you have 😆. I wouldn't worry about alien items, if you are required to use them full supervisory instructions will be freely given 😂.
All the best for a speedy recovery and the difficult balance between doing too much and not enough, I expect she'll be very pleased to be home and delighted if she can sit in the sun for a while after being in the hospital.

The use of such equipment will require a risk analysis being signed off by a competent person. In any case it might be above your pay scale Husky. I would discuss it with the boss.
Has this equipment materialised during Mrs H's absence or was it previously cloaked from sight?

Warning-it isn't a big Microwave, I lost a good curry by thinking it was. On the upside-my clothes had a wonderful aroma on them for a few days. . . .Mmmm, it might be worth another punt.

There is nothing like boiling a few nice jumpers to remove you from kitchen duties HD.....but not yet. Hope it all goes well, I expect your wife will be pleased to be home but will miss the hospital back up. Best wishes to you both.

My wife borrowed my motorcycle. Hit a parked car on a blind bend, country road and unlit. Ended up with both wrists in plaster. ................. that's when you find out who your true friends are
