Would be an interesting subject for the Story Section, especially with some photos. We enjoyed our trip to the Baltic a few years ago. I wonder how many members go that way?

That's right, Bakers2. It's fortunate that we have a seasonal pitch that's all paid up until November.

Yesterday evening, I got a phone call to say that my Smart car repairs are completed. Another phone call came this morning to say it's ready and that they will deliver it back to me tomorrow.
Also, I had an email from the insurance solicitors asking if I needed to claim compensation. So I sent a reply about the loss of income from having lost my job during the time the Smart car was being repaired.
We also went to the dinner2go office as arranged to return their equipment. I received the final payment from them into my bank account.
Yesterday morning, we visited Highdown Gardens. There was quite a variety of early spring flowers that were in full bloom and plenty of colour in the display.

Time for lunch. a bit chilly here, friends arriving for the day tomorrow. They want to go to Monatcute House, I think we'll all enjoy the gardens and their is a new National Gallery exhibition in the Long Gallery, so a climb to the top of the house will be needed.

Early morning visit to the Trainee Vlad the Impaler -- another 5 fingers of blood gone, arm feels quite empty now { Thank you Tony Hancock -- always pinch the good ones }, followed by a visit to Aged Sister & her friend aka Alfie the Cat. Got home just in time to Thank Fedex driver and sign for the bird food !
Now I've just got to shift it into the workshop ( shed) & refill the large containers -- darn tweets feed better than I do ( ) but must not complain -- it's a waste of effort 'cos there's nobody round to hear it !!
Hope you are all enjoying the weather & all that there 'Brexit' Nonsense !!
Have fun, Brian A B M

Food shopping this morning, then back to carry on with the gardening. Front garden just about finished hundreds of crocus bulbs now dug up and put to one side until I can decide what I'm going to do with them. Lots of oldish plants dug up and disposed of, now just need to decide what is going to go in their place.
OH finished burning off the paint from the front gate and has first coat of paint on, new fixing bolts bought and ready for when it goes back on.
B&Q tomorrow morning. Not sure what for but he does like to have a nosy round
Not going anywhere over Easter, more peaceful at home. All those going away safe drive and have a good time.

A bit dull here today, however we took lunch and had a pleasant 7 mile or so walk through the local forest, which we have plenty off in this part of Nottinghamshire. We then made use of the bus passes to get back. Gone are the days when we would happily of done the 7 mile return walk.☹️ That actually involved catching two buses, one into the town and another out. Both however were running exactly to time and I was able to look around for a change. It is amazing what you miss when you are driving.

KjeIINN - I'm afraid that I cannot advise on the cost of an extension. To be honest, these smaller jobs tend to vary a lot, due to access, availability of suitable builders, specific requirements etc,
The projects that I worked on were quite large and ran to millions of pounds, so it was possible to talk about costs per sq metre as there could be a lot of 'averaging'. Also, I've been retired for six years now, so a bit out of touch.
Best bet is to get a few quotes.....but only from someone who has done work for someone you know and can say what their work was like.
(Insidently, our 3 x 6 metre extension cost a bit under £1,000...... but it was 25+ years ago and I did most if it myself or used friends )

Went into York for the day today.
Went to M&S for our 'birthday tea' at lunchtime - a voucher from M&S due to MrsH having their credit card.
Rather miffed to find that you don't get their 'standard' afternoon tea but a cut-down version of it.........tight gits.

Now up in the Baltic area, reminds me a bit like Norfolk so I will grab another glass of the cheeky, Argentina Melbac.
PS if your running south bound from Hamburg via Breman there were severe delays for road works. The queue was over 15 miles long, no problem going North.

Just having a catch up in here after two busy days working at mums. Her front porch needed a couple of brush fulls of paint on some small peeling areas according to her. Hubby decided the white at least needs a repaint so started to remove flaky stuff only to discover some rotten wood above head height and required his wood hardener. So he tackled more of her garden. She and I dead headed and pottered out there too. Gave the backyard a good sweeping and shifted a couple of bits. Back today to use wood hardener, mum's 86 and the porch has been there for more years than I've been alive - the next owners will want to remodel much 😢 so we just need to keep it tidy looking decent and watertight! A bit like the whole house and garden. Mum and Dad moved in there 61 years ago, shes hoping to die in her chair in the house, dad wasnt quite so lucky.
Hubby did more ivy removal which comes from the very neglected next door garden owned by a much younger man 😲 I cleaned the summerhouse inside and then treated the outside, mum cleaned the windows inside. So two very productive days could explain why I'm feeling good tired and a bit achy. Yesterday was glorious today grey and cooler.
Tomorrow our motorhome has MOT so off to collect and take it. Then we'll bring it home and wash it properly. Might ache some more then 😯.
No plans for Easter might try to get a few days R&R before then. Really ought to sort something for easter with regards visitors, not sure if well have a few days away or not depends. I'm envious of those that are organised 😃. I used to be whilst working group as non working group days were very limited
Edit ive been logged out whilst typing this pist - how rude??? But one upside of the upgrade is that it leaves you text in tact so you can copy it ready to paste 😆. Definite improvement 😉😉😉

Not too bad a day today, mix of sun, showers and cloud.
Dentist for check-ups, OH fine, but I needed a filling replaced. Dentist knew we were heading off next week, so checked for cancellations and told me to come back at 16.30. Now all sorted, very good service.
Between appointments, I started cleaning the caravan water system with Puriclean, will flush it through tomorrow, when we will also clean the van inside.

Lovely bright sunny morning in East Kent.Off to the b/yd now to finish off the base for the Pizza oven (delivered yesterday)

I might have missed the reason Triky, but why are you having a Pizza oven at the boat yard? Is your yard more than a place of work (confused smilie).
My wife is eyeing up the North Downs Way trail as its about the only one left she hasn't walked, and a pizza would be worthy of a detour

Picked up the caravan from service yesterday. Repacked all the basic stuff. OH will vac today and just clothes and bedding to go in and nearer departure some additional provisions.
Off soon to get fuel in X-Trail and check air pressures. I suppose it will be wash caravan time later. Wish it was warmer!

Ian, do you think I might be able to claim compensation from dinner2go for their failure to pay the legal minimum wage? I have legal protection insurance on my business car insurance. I wonder whether I might be able to claim for loss of earnings.
I remember it being discussed on here about the Uber drivers court case against Uber which is similar to this case.

Self employed? Not really and just a convenience for the employing company to minimise their costs. Not an unusual situation. Where you have to be available to work for a company for specified hours and are therefore not free to take on other work, all work is on behalf of the same company who pretend that their customers are clients of the drivers and where the drivers are not able to set their own delivery charge - does not sound much like self employed really.

Bight and sunny spells here, breeze a little cool 😲 especially out of the sun.
Sunny outlook here as we've just returned from getting MOT for our motorhome passed with no advisories 😆. We're going to wash it this afternoon but actually it's not bad at all after its earlier whizz over, we're not ones towaste enter your or effort so have popped it back in storage. However probably won't a siesta in the sun as well see if we can cutelderky aunts grass and cheer her up. She maybe just maybe have other plans 😉.

Malcolm......many of us pointed out that really you did not pass the HMRC test on self employment, yet you were happy to ignore all the advice you were given.
I read that some others in your position (different company) have had a ruling that they like the Uber drivers should be treated as employees, but that was a whole gang of them taking up the case.
For you on our own, you are probably better to put this behind you and concentrate on looking for a decent job.
I cannot see that this sort of delivery service can actually be a profitable business if drivers are to be paid an hourly rate even if they have nothing to do, the delivery charges would be far too high.
Is legal cover on a car insurance not for dealing with legal things related to that car, rather than for absolutely anything?
Also, regarding claiming compensation for loss of earnings due to your incident............ you had the hire car to use, so you did not lose your job due to the Smart car being damaged!
