The weather is good here although I hear we could see some cold weather returning next week.

I took my elderly disabled neighbour to town early this morning, we found a disabled parking space and two lads parked up behind (not disabled) and left us without room to park! I can't believe the way some behave. We found another spot with difficulty.

Friends are here for the day mid week, so some extra cleaning to do first! smile

Sounds like a wonderful day out, Malcolm, and you certainly deserve it.

Good luck with the job hunting, best wishes to both of you.

A bright and dry day here in the broad acres. Not many clouds but lots of contrails.

Can I add my best wishes Malcolm for a speedy return to work but this time for someone who will treat you right 🤞

Have taken c/van in for service today not due till next monday but always take our vans in early as it gives dealer a "bank" if there is a short notice cancelation, also the regular fitter that does ours will start on it if he has time,so usually get it back earlier,  also since booking service have booked  Easter at Broadway,

We're off down to Cornwall for a few days after the Easter weekend and going to Conkers C&CC for the Mayday weekend, but as it's just up the road, we'll be in and out of the house as we still have things to do that weekend.

Spent today taking stuff to the tip and working at the back of the house which is often loosely referred to as the garden.....  laughing

Hope the Cornish weather stays fair for you David. It was a lovely warm sunny morning today but the clouds have gathered and there's a stiff breeze blowing in off the Atlantic.

We drove to Newquay this afternoon and walked around Pentire Head and then along Fistral Beach. We'd planned to carry on around Towan Head as well, but long walks are gettig a bit much for Harry these days and when he digs his heels in there's no shifting him!

The lifeguards are back on duty on the main beaches and have already performed one rescue on Fistral this weekend.

By the way, for those of you who know the area and may have frequented Bodhi's cafe at the and of Fistral in the past, it's now changed hands and is called Fistral Sea Spray cafe. They proudly advertise "artisan" coffee. We didn't stop to find out how much more expensive than ordinary coffee that is! Still, it'll be better than having a Costa or Starbucks on the beach so we'll try it next time and report back!

Forgot to say that for Easter weekend we're having 5 nights at CAMC Moorhampton - haven't visited for some years now. And at under £100 a good deal I reckon! (Smiley smiley)

That looks a very nice site.

We keep saying that we must try Herefordshire some time and that might well be an option - especially as it's reasonably priced wink

Great walking area Ian. Wye Valley Walk just down the road, Black & White village trail nearby, even Pen y Fan and Brecon Beacons reasonably close to drive to. Plenty to do - you'd enjoy it.

Thanks Chris.  You seem to have some good weather at the moment.  We tend not to get to Newquay too often but we'll keep the Fistral Sea Sprey in mind.  Enjoy the rest of your stay.

Really getting hooked on these cheap flights just booked another. Mallaga for £9 out, and £8.50 return. I've been doing some homework on these low cost airlines do it, I thought they used older planes, but they have much newer planes than the established airlines, by about 5 years, interesting video here tells you all :

Malaga is a very pleasant place to spend time......the town is a mix of old and new, with some very interesting buildings. Great to wander around.

There is the Picasso museum (if you like that sort of thing).

The marina area is very nice and worth spending some time there. We spotted Paul Allen's yacht there and it was a beauty! (He was co-founder of microsoft).

There is a train that goes from the centre of Malaga (it's underground in Malaga) to the airport (so an easy way to get into town from there) and also really good to go to places like Torremolinos and Fuengerola. It's always bang on time, fast and cheap.

    Enjoy!

After a good weekend, today ended up wet.

The weekend was spent at DD's, got all the plinth pods fitted with their fronts, but there are still some adjustments needed, so if I have time, and we get decent weather, I will go down again this week and see what I can do.

This morning I washed the outside of the caravan, and the Smart car, but ran out of steam and time before I got to the Touareg.

This afternoon it was wood turning club time again.

Tomorrow is dentist time, then we need to clean inside the van and get started packing as we are off next week.

First to River Breamish, then Cambridge (not CC) then a CL at Harwich before the ferry.  Taking 10/12 days on the way there.

Ian.......have you knowledge of current building costs?  DD is looking at adding a small ground floor extension to give a living area off her dining kitchen, only about 3x3 metres.

Pitched roof (single slope from house) with large Velux to let in extra light, new back door, reusing existing french doors which are in the kitchen, so no extra support needed for house wall.

Any  idea on a ballpark square metre price?

Kj there are quite a few web sites out there that help with the calcs. Try Jewsons or similar, type in building project costs. We've just done a conversion which came in well under budget but luckily the building was already there.
