What are you all up to

Malcolm good to hear you sounding positive. Should it be Tesco they'll provide the vehicle and uniform. Plus holiday entitlement 😉. They do part time for flexibility and since they offer huge delivery time choice and opening hours it suits them. Much like your last employer, who should give you notice or pay in lieu 😉, so that they have workers when they are needed.

Particularly so as you would not be using your own money to fund the food purchases and it would be Tesco's fuel and vehicle wear and tear for the delivery. You will be surprised at what that will do to your earnings. When I retired my earnings went down substantially. However, I had never really comprehended how much I was spending on just going to work. In the final analysis we were much better off than I thought. I am sure you will find that your DTo G overheads were much higher than you thought, even after claiming tax back. Plus you won't have the hasle of doing that.
Anyway it is a lovely day here in Notts. Must get off to Aldi now to pick up some toilet fluid. It is on sale from today.

JVB. Thanks for the tip that Houghton Mill are now booking/allocating pitches. Mr H rang them this morning and told them our preferred pitches and they have booked us on to one so no need to rush to get a pitch that we like.

Malcolm - that's wonderful news!
Hopefully this means that you won't now feel that you are trapped into working for this crooked fellow and can do something more appropriate to your years and that is properly paid.
Good luck for the future!

Aldi had plenty of the fluid, so we are now stocked for the year. Strange though, we only went for the fluid but still spent £32.
Nursing home visit this afternoon, a regular Sunday event since my Mum fell over, and has not been able to get in the car to come here. I take the mobile down and she can speak to her sister in Bristol and we can face time my sister in France. Luckily there is a good 4G signal locally.

Madness 😉 you describe a fantastic day and you're indoors deep cleaning!! You do know this is England? That you live in a rainy area? Etc etc. Why aren't you enjoying the great outdoors?
Me I've half heartedly assisted on the great shed clear out. My proper bit starts any minute now -tidying the freezer and the storage shelves. But I need to do so without eyes 😉😉. That's because I now have enough space to stand on - he's untidy! I've successfully sent son home with his bike, he and his dad thought next time would do. I pointed out next time won't just be golf clubs but dog and fiancé and the stuff they'll have worn to the wedding they're attending etc😂😂. Also a few garden tools. We have our own, hubby's dad's and one of his uncle's stuff. Be useful for the children in due course I was told 15 years ago, hmmmmm one has lived in NZ for 10 years 😲.
We enjoyed lunch outside and I've gravitated to my sun chair as often as I've been able 😆

Another glorious Cornish day. Did a bit of garden tidying up outside the van this morning, early lunch then off to St Agnes Head and a walk along the coast path to Trevaunance Cove.
And what a small world! Walking back along the path stop to let a couple come past and young lady says "I know you! You're Mr M, you used to teach me at the school I went to!". And so I did, about 10 years or so ago.Still get a buzz out of meeting ex students out of the blue and chatting over old times - sad isn't it? (Smiley smiley)

Farm work continues outside as usual - plus intense tidying and weeding of the yard. I need my husband inside to reach high and awkward bits.
Our working life is lived in The Great Outdoors.
Tomorrow, the forecast being fine during the day, we will be painting more fields brown.

We visited the National Trust Alfriston Clergy House in East Sussex yesterday. A lovely little village and the first property to be acquired by the National Trust, a lovely thatched timber framed cottage with a beautiful garden.
It was a 30 mile drive from Northbrook Farm club site on a lovely sunny day through some beautiful countryside. A much lovelier way to spend our Sunday afternoon than working for dinner2go for a boss that was cheating us!

Thanks, Brian. I've put in some applications to various companies so will just have to wait and see what result comes from it.

You're right about that, Steve. I'm already feeling the benefit of less spending on fuel!

I think I'm in the wrong place, triky. There's no sun here at the moment. It started off foggy but that has cleared to a grey overcast sky. Good luck with your pizza oven. You'll soon be making tasty pizzas!

- Malcolm good to hear you're sounding positive. Must just be Tricky that's in the right place grey here as the mist lifts no sun in Essex at present. Have another enjoyable day, at least you are on a seasonal pitch so no fees to find. Good luck with the job applications.
