Rest stop Zaragonza - Valencia
Can any one recommend a decent rest stop between Zaragonza and Valencia? We are towing a twin axle caravan and have three small dogs with us. If there is a service station for fuel nearby even better. Thanks.

Best reststop is at Albentosa, I think that is junction 63. However there is no fuel there. Rest stops between Zaragoza and Tereul are few and far between, there are more thereafter especially the last third of the journey. There are plenty of fuel stations, most you have to go into the nearby towns and villages but there are some on the A23. I usually fill up in Zaragoza before leaving .

Thanks. Although we will fill up at Logrono, it may be an idea to top up again in Zaragoza if I do my calculations at 18mpg which gives me a range of about 320miles. It seems that there is a fuel station at Sobradiel that is easy to access. We can then stop at Albentosa later however on thbe Michelin map I cannot locate the junction or the town? Is it south or north of Tereul?

South of Tereul Surfer. Junctions are numbered according to their kilometer distance from the start of the Autovia, so Albentosa reststop is 63 kilometers from Sagunto, the start of the A23. Teruel is junction 115 so the rest stop is 115-63=52 kilometers south of Teruel or 274-63-=211 Kilometers from Zaragoza.

There are several major refuelling stops on the A23, At km 176 (100 km from Zaragoza); at km 92 (180 km from Zaragoza) and another where the A23 becomes the V23 (about 20 km from Valencia). Google street view shows them clearly.

As you can go in the car only, I would reccomdnd a really cheap supermarket just around the corner from Camping Zaragoza. It is out of the site then first right down to the dual carriageway below and just along there on the right. You can turn arounf at the large strange intersection roundabout just past the fuel station then exit again yo the higher road & back to the campsite. Cannot remember the name but the staff in reception will tell you where it is. There is one on the A23 which sits up on the right of the motorway heading south but there are none on the actual motorway itself. The one high up had really good parking for a caravan too. I normally recognise it as I approach by the sign for fuel and seeing the station up there in the air just off the slip road. Hope this helps. Regards Roy

I find it really odd that in Spain on some A routes you can go for ever without a convenient filling station or rest-stop ...... then all of a sudden (often on the older roads) there will be excellent stops every 10 miles or so. I am always a bit wary of leaving the motorway where services are signposted 'via service road'.
