It can only get better ..........

People find other forums a pleasant respite from struggling with the CT software and lack of control, Husky, but it doesn't mean they have actually left CT. Many of us, including yourself, use other forums but still continue to post here until we find we need a break from the frustration that so often marks the CT experience.

1.I don't see any lack of control ( only members who have a difference of opinion, that some members won't accept)

2.I don't have any frustration with my CT experience

I got a tad grumpy with all the complaints. I fail to understand why members just cannot accept change and get on with enjoying life and our hobby.

The time to grumble is when it really effects you touring capability.

Have there been many complaints? Can't say that I noticed more than a handful

I am still in the Overseas section - people there don't constantly complain or endlessly chew over the same old meatless bones.

Good point EuroT, they migrate to this section to squabble over the meatless bones, usually with the intro-'I don't usually post here but'laughinglaughing

Possibly a slight touch of mental indigestion could be curtailing activity. The introduction of a new web site, still faltering and not complete followed closely by re-branding was probably not the best way to keep the interest of new members (or old members) engaged.

Sometimes good clear information explaining what is happening is better than "exciting" new surprises. wink

Why o why did we need a name change and all the other changes.  People recognised the caravan club display material and knew what it meant.  New logo and website totally unnecessary and has certainly put me off using it.  No doubt it was to keep someone in a job somewhere and will probably change again in another 18 months or so.

There you go HD, towbarsni is a brand new poster! Might have been reading for a while, but welcome to CT.

Please don't worry if your first post gets moved to a more relevant section, towbarsni, it is just a bit of polite tidying up of posts, and quite normal.

Perhaps they are like me and cannot find comments made on previous points, cannot retrace older stories, still cannot master the  ability to add photos as on other  internet programmes and then there is always the   responses from the usual 6 who decide it is fun to  belittle other peoples comments, so it is better to read and not comment any more..There appears  little chance of following a theme through now with the new design software.. I do not have the time to trawl through  tens of pages of diatribe just to find the latest comment on a subject I found interesting...Sorry.... SG2..

Sailorgirl I think your comments regarding following threads or posts is very apt. Certainly isn't easy with this new website. But it doesn't look like any if the website is fit for purpose especially CL and club bookings so I expect CT is well down the list if it's made it at all!

I emailed three times once as requested by Rochelle on the snagging thread at the start, again when i said about it weeks later someone on live chat regarding my Kindle Fire being rendered a read only device since the upgrade. Only ever got totally irrelevant emails back from the enquiry team who didn't seem to have read the original email or subsequent ones 😲. I asked that it be forwarded to the IT Team but if it was there's been no response.  Makes you feel like a valued member 😉. If I could be bothered I'd kick up but I really can't.

I still post but mainly read because I havd to be on the right device. Progress ........

I don't post  a great deal anymore as it's such a hassle.  I used to read through the posts and if I found something I wished to comment on I could hit the reply button, login and go straight back to the reply box.  Now you go to your profile and then have to find the appropriate post again that I was looking at.  I can't really be bothered, it is so user unfriendly and nothing appears to be being done about it.  Also I find CT such a depressing negative read these days I very rarely look at it anymore.  I also used to follow a lot on my phone, but since the so called upgrade navigating on the phone is even worse than the website.

From OP’s original post  -  “When the club announced it's name change there were dozens of "new" posters putting their view ,now it has quietened down why aren't these posters carrying on with posting and joining in with other discussions ?????and the fun  “

The reasons for not continuing to post/join in discussions can be many & varied. Perhaps, having put their point of view, I can only guess [& it is just a guess] that they have gone back to just reading CT & enjoying their time away as they did before the change.

I used to post frequently on UKCS until CT came along.  I now very rarely go the UKCS, but only because of time.  I'd never be able to keep it up posting on multiple sites.

On Caravan Talk you have several options that can tailor it to what you want to view. I suspect most people select view new posts since last visit and there is a choice of what period you want posts to appear over, for example last 24 hours. You can also elect for the various sections which you have no interest in not to be included in the view new posts. So it's quite easy to customise what you see when you login. Just wish we had those options here!!
