Where have the posters gone ?
When the club announced it's name change there were dozens of "new" posters putting their view ,now it has quietened down why aren't these posters carrying on with posting and joining in with other discussions ?????and the fun

I think it is a fairly standard response. Folk are always much more likely to moan about something being bad than good by a factor of at least 10 to 1. It does however show what an ill thought out concept the rebrand was, in that it attracted more negative comments from new posters than in all the time I have been on CT. Even the new web site roll out did not come close.

Compared to this time last year the number of postings and posters has plummeted. I always enter via latest activity I couldn't keep up last year this year it's like watching paint dry.
Yes plenty of activity be it new and old posters with rebranding. But that's been flogged to death, it won't change back, little interaction on any sensible point raised by HO replies. Perhaps seen by many as not worth the effort?
Have people not got questions to ask now? Can't be that they're finding answers via the search facility - can it? 😉
The wonderful new website? Very temperamental and not user friendly forum? Certainly lots of established posters not now but then that seems to relate to website update - stories lost photos if moved, reviews lost to mention but 2 items some have certainly voted with their feet for CT if not the club.
Who knows? Shame but another fact of life within the 'Club'.

Perhaps they just got fed up fighting the archaic new software.

Where did that get them all SL, a few harrumphs, a little bit of abuse then. . . .Nothing. Just as it ever was they'll return when the C&MC put a full stop somewhere they decide it's not appropriate

It seems a shame that many of the posters whom we had not seen before only use Club Together as a means of protest. It was the same with the COTY TV programme. Whilst the facility of Club Together is there to allow people give their views it does tend to devalue those on here who are here offering good advice and information to their fellow Club members.

I don't think it's quite as straightforward as Where have they gone? I have seen plenty of new names appear but mostly restricting themselves to the technical side of the forum or asking questions pertinent to touring. I got the feeling that quite a few are just readers which is fine if that is what they want, my wife does the same on an art forum.
I agree that no new faces seem to be bothered about the general chat side which must seem like a cosy enclosed club to those that dip their feet into it. Maybe they're on a non fast food diet?
I'm always amazed when providing a review on the CL section to see how many new names (to me) leave reviews and how long they've been doing it

I still find some aspects of the new site tedious and off putting and the fact is it does not need much to make you think why bother I've got other things to do. Read many of the posts about the rebrand but since whether I like it or not will not affect my use of club sites, rallies and other services I saw no point in making a comment one way or the other.
I have always been I interested in the sites and caravan sections and other technical matters and have contributed where possible but unless I am mistaken there is a considerable decline in new posts even in these areas.
I think perhaps that all the changes in combination have unfortunately acted as a deterrent both to new and old contributors and it may be a long time if ever before the popularity returns.

Sorry to be so negative, but, IMHO this site has gone downhill. Nothing has changed, hardly any response from those that "matter" to the many questions posed by members trying to find answers, but then again, this is not the place to ask questions, which becomes clear to see by the lack of response.
Still the same old Trolls waiting to pounce, Why should a newbie post, when all that happens the majority of time seems to be a reply that is sometimes quiet daunting to a new poster.
The trolls can throw what they like at me, but I have a resilience that carries me through, without harm.
I dip in to this forum now and then, but after a few minutes browsing, soon become bored with the same old rhetoric.
Good luck to the few members that try to make CT the forum it was, you have my admiration.....

Maybe when newbies ask for advice or some technical advice moderates move it to another site then they have search through so many sites they get fed up like me when there's so much knowledge out there to found don't move it then we all learn from Avast scource of info i love passing on info learnt while travelling and from this site but get fed up when trying to find info as been moved

I think we have to accept that not all members want to use the forum on a daily basis and some, probably quite a lot, dip in now and again to ask a question. On most forums it's easy to identify those who are the regulars, no harm in that as they tend to keep most forums going.
On the issue of supposed trolls. All I would say to people if they genuinely feel that a poster is trolling (as opposed to disagreeing with something that has been said) they should report such instances to the Community Manager. Every post has it's own facility to be reported if required.

I look in most days and skim through new posts. As we're not able to be out in the caravan much I can't contribute to current travels etc. If I can I reply to posts re sites, equipment etc, but not being technically minded, cannot answer many queries.
So, most of my posts tend to be in the General Chat section - and nothing much to do with caravanning (mainly confined to Farmimg, Family, and Folk music).
Maybe when we retire (haha!) that may change. But I'll be too old to care then.

It's a frustrating, long winded affair trying to do most things on this website, so I am sure it has put a lot off that used to post on a regular basis. I have just been browsing Club Site section, eventually got to the site I wanted to look at, Chatsworth. It then asked me to log in to do something, so I did. Only to find that I was looking at the Altnaharra Site now, so I have just given in, cannot be bothered to go through the whole rigmarole again.
We also had a small parcel from the Club this morning, another two copies of the GDO guide, in same envelope! That takes us to three now.
The whole set up seems to get more shambolic day by day. Powers that be need to get a grip on all aspects and sort things out, too much money needlessly wasted on errors. Sites remain nice, but parts of the organisation and administration are a right dog's breakfast!

A lot of new people posted when the re-branding was announced, at least they were able to have a voice and can join in anytime. I see new people on here every day, the review posts engage lots of different posters. The regulars add something, it's not a bad mix.

I'm not here much nowadays. It's not a rewarding experience. Slow website, sideways scrolling, erratic search etc.
Tend to go elsewhere now for caravanning discussions including Facebook which I've found is pretty good for site recommendations etc. CT is one of the better ones if you've got a technical question.

Leave threads in the wrong place and end up with a total mess? Yep, good scheme.
