Visiting Eastern Europe - tips and advice?

We are planning an extended trip to Eastern Europe, using some of the CC sites if available, and hoping to travel from Slovenia northwards through Hungary, Slovakia, Czech Republic and Poland to Estonia/Latvia etc. Has anyone visited any of these countries
and has any useful tips on places to camp, visit, avoid etc?
