Barking dogs
8pm and can hardly hear the TV for the intolerable noise of barking dogs here at Burr country park. This is club etiquette? At least four big dogs in this corner of the site....not including our own who happily does not bark at all. And leaving them tied up outside whilst they continue barking seems to me to be contempt for fellow club members.

Don't you mean ignorant and selfish 😐

My first 25 years of membership I lived in dread of my dogs getting me run off a clubsite or worse still out of the club! Did they enforce the rules back then or was I just oversensitive? It would seem there need to be more sensitive dog owners! One of mine would bark if tied outside which is why she never is unless I am with her! I keep the blinds down so they don't bark at passing dogs if I am not with them too. I really don't understand owners who leave their dogs for hours in vans and MHs for that matter - to bark and bark and bark. Apart from the nuisance to others it is highly stressful for the dogs!
I am not claiming mine never bark as they do if I have visitors etc but they don't go on and on its just not allowed.

You missed out......Totally inconsiderate 👍

If you get a power cut you could end up with darking bogs.

Sams son. Things could be worse, you could live next door to these ignorant selfish people. We have 2 dogs of our own

I know how you feel some ignorant (for the want of a better word ) people have no idea how their noise and unsociable antics affect other members on site we have 2 dogs they are not left outside unless we are with them . if they do start barking we stop it right away responsible dog owners will know this is possible so before none dog owners have any sarcastic remarks dont bother. to let it go on shows they dont give a monkeys for anyone else.

Sadly some dog owners are inconsiderate, some parents are inconsiderate. I would never leave my dogs to just bark. Yes they will now and then but we sort them out and never leave them alone in motor home of tied up outside.
I don’t know the answer but if a polite word doesn’t work ask wardens that is partly why we like the club, to be around like minded people and have wardens that won’t tolerate inconsiderate behaviour

Perhaps the different groups of dogs could be introduced to each other, socialise, and then not end up barking at each other as a result.
Used to do this with my hound, so she would not perceive another nearby dog as a threat. She then remained quiet unless someone approached the van/awning. That is fair enough, I feel.

what happens when a site says no more than 1 -2 dogs, and people turn up with 4, "quote dogs must be exercised off site, and people just walk the dogs round the site and poop on the grass awning pitching area's, Dogs must be on a lead, and there goes "yapper" running round not a lead in site, and finally Huge mastive dog tied up on its own by a children's play area.
I thought dog owners were supposed to have a modicum of ownership, Come on Dog owners, please take ownership and not ruin holidays for Non dog owner, not every dog owner but you know who you are

One of the reasons we never use club sites, top dollar, then having to endure someones mutt kicking off...... it really is about time a zero tolerance approach to this growing menace was adopted by the club, designated areas of the sites as being dog free would help, it really grinds my gears that so many dog owners seem to think the din their animals create is acceptable, IT IS NOT.

We very rarely hear dogs bark ...... you must listen out especially for them. As for being a growing problem I can only think that its a growing problem in your own imagination.
Dog free section? Is that with or without awning and/or without kids too .... I'm sure there's another group we could include or exclude

I'm afraid the designated area would need to be within a screen of soundproofing too as noise carries-all noise

And a rule that kids must be kept on lead (Max 3m) unless in the designated exercise area. I think unruly children are more of a problem. Most dog owners and responsible parents are very mindful of intruding on others peace and quite but there is always the exception in all cases. What really annoys me is when Non dog owners tar everyone with the same brush
Not yet been to a site where Dog's have been a problem, last trip last Autumn had at least 7 on site including my 2 Border Collies.

"One of the reasons we never use club sites,..."
Well, that's good as the rest of us have no chance of meeting you.

We're dog owners and would be horrified if our dog disturbed someone else's peace. Unfortunately there are dog owners and parents who care nothing for other peoples peace. We were recently in a restaurant where 2 young children were allowed to run riot around other peoples tables. It wasn't the kids fault they were only 7 or 8 ish it was the couldn't care less parents to blame.

I hopefully I am not tempting fate, but we have been using CAMC sites extensively for the last 12 years. For the last 5 years in excess of 100 days per year. To date we have not experienced a problem. So I would think the issues raised above are extremely rare. We are not dog owners.

Maybe this in the realms of the piped music in the toilet blocks, a moan for moanings sake about a minor, very occasional problem.🤔
We are dog owners and detest hearing dogs being left to bark constantly but is not something I have experienced in over 20 years of caravanning.

Steve my sentiments exactly! We've never had a dog and have been using club sites for 18 years and we have never had a problem like the one described by the OP. Dogs bark, that's what they do, it would be quite strange if they didn't, but not once on a site has it been at the level quoted: hardly hear the TV for the intolerable noise of barking dogs.
Actually I think that would be quite impossible!

all dogs bark including highly trained police dogs I cleaned for the police at a state of the art training facility which has kennels one used to bark all the time I would often ask the night staff if it barked all night and when the police arrived with their dogs and transferred them to the police vehicle they all barked at each ,I have noticed now at sites people don't have their dogs in the Caravans leave them in the awning or in the boot of the car I have a tiny camper with long bench seats on one side the seating area is for me and the other for my dogs so they are not left outside they are in when I'm in and out when I'm out
