Slovenia to Croatia

Hi    Traveling down to Split Croatia may time ,can anybody give me any advice on what the road number 106 is like from Ljubljana Slovenia down to A6 autoroute in Croatia is it suitable for car and caravan. Any advice from someone what's done it if possible. Thanks.

    Hi CLMAN. I have travelled it in May 2015 in a 4t 8m motorhome & found it not a problem. If you search through my stories on the forum from that time for one titled Post It from Camping Krk then you will read what I said about the journey from Ljubljana. Unfortunately all the photos are now gone in the migration. As you cross the border into Croatia the road surface condition deteriorated noticbly as you also dropped altitude but it was not a problem. I went onto Krk from there & took the shortest route rather than follow the motorway for all that journey which involved a bigger decent.  There are Lidl supermarkets along the route in Slovenia so lorries clearly do it & I am sure it was shown in the Clubs touring 2015 book as a recognised route. Lovely journey & better than the motorway, I will go that way again. I have no experience of towing though. Hope this helps. Regards Roy

    No difficulties five years ago and they were building motorways and improving the roads then. The one thing we were surprised to see was the amount of traffic mostly Germans leaving Croatia following the Spring Holiday, long queues,
