We visited my cousin this afternoon and collected our mail. We chatted for about half an hour and then got a Macdonalds order, so had to cut short the visit. Now we're doing a kfc order. We've still got an hour and a half to go as we finish at seven today. Feeling tired now as we were up at 6 a.m.

We got enough gap in between deliveries to get a meal deal this afternoon at Greggs which included two Cornish Pasties, two capucinos.

I am sure that is a disappointment for you wife as she was no doubt looking for to the relief that her hip operation would bring. If there are complications it's probably best that it's done in an NHS hospital where they have the full range of emergency facilities at their disposal. Would one option be to repair the Hiatus Hernia? Unfortunately that would delay the hip for some time.

EasyT, like you I check my X Trail tyre pressures + caravan before any trips away also check the oil level too although the car warning light would tell me anyway.

Thankfully, I've never had to top up the oil between services and, like you, never had a bulb blow.

Unfortunately, not like the numerous drivers that can be seen at night driving around with their one eyed monster vehicles because they can't be bothered to check the lights!! Or worse, they know the bulb has gone but can't be bothered to change it! yell

    One of my pet hates!

We've got a gap now as no more orders have come through since completing the last kfc delivery. So we're now in the town centre because, being after 6 p.m., parking restrictions are lifted. Also there's Barclays free wifi available as we are parked opposite Barclays Bank. Less than an hour to go before we finish for today. It's getting dark now plus rainfall as well, so it looks like a drive home to Redhill with poor visibility. The only hope is that the rush hour traffic might be starting to ease by then.

It's our day off tomorrow, so we're planning a visit to a National Trust property. We were thinking of Ham House in Richmond. It's outside the London congestion charging zone which will save us £11.50 and it seems that the house is open for guided tours between 12 and 3 p.m. Each tour lasts half an hour and the tea rooms will be open for lunch. It looks as though the shortest, most direct route from the club site at Alderstead Heath is 16 miles and should take about 40 minutes. The forecast says fair weather tomorrow in the Redhill area which will be nice for our day off. But right now, I'm just looking forward to getting back to our caravan for our evening meal. It woukd help if the rain could stop in time for our journey home. It's bad enough driving in the dark, it's a lot worse in heavy rainfall as well.

It looks like our return home will be delayed. A Brio order has just come in and it's 18:46 and won't be ready for another 10 minutes as they're still cooking it! The delivery address is not too far so hopefully it can be done by 19:15! It's a paid order which is quicker to deliver as we don't have to collect payment which takes more time. We just deliver and go! So hopefully, we'll still get back to our caravan at a reasonable time.

Enjoy it Malcolm - are you National Trust members? There are, of course, many other properties to see within a reasonable driving distance of where you are.

Tell us how good it was.

Reports about a riot at Wirral CP Caravan Club site (old signage still in place) are misleading. Following a power outage "Mildly Miffed from Tunbridge Wells" was heard to voice his dismay that he was not able to use the microwave to radiate his M&S Chicken Tikka Masala and he hadn't yet worked out how the oven worked on gas.

The Riot police have been recalled to Liverpool as they have received reports that neighbours are concerned for a local Liverpudlian who has admitted to not having a sense of humour.

Otherwise we had another very enjoyable day again with lots of sunshine. Visited Lady Lever Art Gallery in Port Sunlight amongst other things.

How do they know you've paid? Is it worth the administration expense

We pay £24 for the privelge of using a second brown bin and get a sticker with a bar code to place on the bin. Collections start again this week and are fortnightly.

We're back home now after a good trip to Bristol. Called in at NT Tyntesfield on the way home, haven't been before and it's well worth seeing. It's not too far from from Bristol/Cheddar etc. I remember when the NT bought it a few years back and it's been huge task to bring it to it's present state. We got there just after 10am, in time for a coffee and cake before getting a timed ticket at 11am. Nice walk through the parkland to the house, the house and contents are very much unaltered, a true Victorian Gothic pile!

We remember visiting when we were staying at the Club site in Cheddar about a year ago in the summer. Both parkland and house were impressive and we had nice weather on the day we visited.

A glorious sunny day and the temperature has just reached double figures.

Tonight we're going to another gig at Kendal Brewery Arts Centre - Oysters 3 (the founder members of Oysterband). I've loaded a playlist with all their albums (it seems I own 12) and have these wonderful songs flowing round the house.

I'm cooking one of my favourite meals (Chickpea and Cauliflower Curry), an old friend is on his way from deepest Wales to stay for a few days (and for the gig) and we're meeting even older friends for a meal before the concert.

All in all - life is good!

Bright sunny start to the morning but quite a breeze. Cloudy from time to time. Doing the flower beds, soil is very nice to work with at the moment 😆 and unlike housework I can see where I've been for longer 😉.  Just on a cuppa break.

Sounds like a lovely few days for you Goldie.

Beautiful sunshine here early on, a bit of cloud now.  Just off to DD's house to try out the first completed plinth pod before I go into mass production.

She generally works from home on a Thursday, and will be at home, but has been laid low with a terrible sore throat, presumably  something nasty her husband brought from school (he is a teacher) as he was a bit poorly too last weekend.

He must have  developed a degree of resistance to all the bugs as he recovers quickly, but only after passing them on!

I have strict instructions to keep a safe distance and avoid contact!

Had a nice run out to a fishery in Dorset this morning, OH distributing permits for his local club. Beautiful countryside Cerne Abbas way (of Giant Fame, won't put a photo on here, it's a bit of a no no......surprised)

Then had a coffee in a garden centre by Sherborne Castle, couldn't resist a few spring flower purchases so more work to do after all the washing and cleaning in the van from recent trip has been done. Late lunch now, going to sit in the warm sunshine. smile smilesmile

Having a quiet day in today (at least until later), but yesterday was a sort of day out.  We took Lizzie to the consultant vet at the Willows, Solihull.  She was going to be there sometime having a CT scan etc so while she was there we popped down to Stratford and went to a tea room called 'Fourteas'.  It was kitted out like a 1940's wartime tea room.  Carol had a pot of tea and a toasted tea cake.  I had a poached eg on toast and went for the Oveltine drink option.  Can't remember the last time I had Oveltine.  smile

Hot,hot, hot, wow it's 31c today. Seems we have a heatwave for a few days, yesterday was 29c , the wind has dropped to just a light breeze so we are under the parasol hiding until it gets a bit cooler, to hot for going walking during the day so it will have to be a sunset walk.

Today is change over day so lots of folk coming and going, plenty of empty sunbeds though. Glad we have another 2 weeks to go and we don't have to move apartments, to hot for that today. Pity the poor cleaning staff it's a busy day for them, I know they are used to it but I still don't envy them.

Perfect blue sky not a cloud, think it's time for an ice cream, have fun everyone, stay safe.

Very very beautiful glorious early spring day here. All flower beds tilled. Crocuses are beautiful completely open and basking in the sun. Daffs too. Nice enough to work or walk in no shade needed. 14c in the shade a much warmer out if it.  😃

    Glad you're enjoying yourselves.

Plinth pod fitted perfectly, so I can make a start on the other 7.

DD needs to order up the drawer kits, but she is too miserable for anything other than languishing on the sofa under a blanket right now.

As the clouds are coming and going, I am first going to replace the Gaslow system into the van while it is good weather,  only a few weeks till we go away so plenty of preparations to get on with.
