Hello.

please could you tell me if it ok to leave the quilts and pillows in the van when it is in storage for a few weeks in the winter , spring, autumn?

we thought we needed to take it home each time but someone said we could leave it in the van.

I wouldn't leave them over winter but otherwise it's never been a problem to Ieave them in their usual storage cupboard.

Store in our motorhome all year round. In the winter when we rarely tour they are stored inside large plastic bags.  In fact we keep everything in our van ready for swift getaways 😀.

Our sleeping bags are always brought home and dry cleaned ready for the next trip away . Pillows are left in the van in plastic bags and kept in a bed locker.

We always bring ours home over winter. Apart from a few days after the annual service, we don't usually use the van between November and March.

We just take the covers in for washing and leave some bedding in the van, because as we all no all British built caravans are totally damp free,  JOKE. wink

We brIng ours home for the winter (generally end of November until we use the caravan in the New Year - this year that was 12th February.  Stuff has been in the van since then and will stay there until November.  We have been out twice already and hope to continue with short outings until our main summer holiday.  Then back to short outings until November.

We always bring ours home in the winter.  I like to get them laundered and keep them aired.  They lived in the under bed storage in one of our spare bedrooms

We have the van on the drive, so easy to bring things into the house, where fortunately we have space for stuff.

Small cushions, pillows and duvets come inside, caravan upholstery is left in place.

We do not usually use the van between mid November and late March.

    That is really helpful.

    thank you everyone.

we though we had to bring the quilts and pillows home each trip if the weather was cold and damp. This will make things so nice and easy. We will just bring them home for the winter

We do tend to leave them most of the time but bring them home to clean from time to time. The biggest risk I think is mice finding them and making a nest though.

Our last trip of the year is usually October - then its not used against until spring. We have a big clean-out pre-winter storage and bring most things home including all bedding, throws, fabrics etc - even the kitchen crockery, plates, pans etc! This is all then super-fresh like new for our first outing of the new year :)
