There is a lot of very unhappy members I realy do feel as my young family do feel the the board are so cut off from its own younger memembers and I all so feel thay need to stop what thay are doing to day be fore thay go it to a board meeting and think hard what thay have done and to try and make the members come together again as we are not as one club wich is sad but I still hope it will change and we will all be as one

Sparky what would you like to see happening? There will always be some moaners but it would be good to have some ideas especially from younger families. Personally I think the CL owners should have had some sort of warning that a change was on the way so they could avoid unnecessary expense.

I thought moaning was a national pastime and a requirement for club membership.

As a brand new member to the club, i'm very happy with all my dealings with club staff etc. I don't think i've met a more professional & friendly bunch of people.
However SOME CMC members are the most whinging, whining set of people I've come across. SOME CMC members believe its their given right to have club staff fawn over them & then moan at every opportunity. The recent online reaction to the club rebranding to the CMC by SOME members is a clear case in point.
My initial dealings with all club staff has been fantastic, however SOME of the members leave a lot to be desired. I have to add that so far all my knowledge and dealings with Club staff & indeed members has been through this forum and telephone conversations as we only start touring next week. I only hope when we get to sites we don't meet up with these whinging whining members whose vitriol against the club and its staff has been unjustified and unnecessary, now that would be awful and give us cause to complain.

I don't think that I have before seen a post with repetition of 'whinging whining'. I do love Irony.
Personally I think that the staff on site are great as are the members so I would not worry on that score FB.
Won't bother commenting on the rest however

Spot on FB. I've been a member for 17 years and with the exception of one occasion I've always found club staff friendly and helpful. I will still be enjoying club sites as I always have done. I don't really care what they call the club as long as they continue to offer quality sites. What does surprise me however is the attitude of some members to motorhomes, one comment I read saying that motorhomes are an irritant. Well tough, motorhomes are here to stay!

Not every member is unhappy ,i'm not
Nor me Husky, I do think that CC have have been very poor on many occasions recently in communicating with the membership and keeping them informed. They do not seem to have better relationship with CL owners which is more of a concern. But not unhappy.

FB deriving any conclusions from what you read on social media is most unwise. However, it is important to draw a distinction between vitriolic type posts, which in my opinion are rare, and those just expressing their opinion with which you don't agree.

One thing that has stood out clearly during this ongoing hoo haa is the camaderie amongst the rank and file members, including the wardens and the CL owners (who all are also members). There are indeed differences of opinion and differences in level of satisfaction with what has been happening, but clearly all are concerned at wanting the best for, and from, their Club.
Shuch a shame that is just not the way it is run.

Then you should read with more thought perhaps or maybe I should have preface my comments to which you refer with - 'I am not unhappy but ........... )
My posts have been to say that I dislike the new logo and the abandonment of the previous well known red pennon. I have not gone on about that however.
To say that I see no need for the name change but that of itself I was not too bothered.
What I did point out on numerous occasions was the lack of information provided to the members and to CL owners with regard to several things including the rebrand. I did say that it was a poor do to deprive members of a handbook and map that they had already waited 2 years for and let them wait a further 3 months.
All of this does not make me personally unhappy.

What you say is an oft made remark about the Club, often by people that don't use Club sites. I have always found it difficult to understand and yet in 35 years I am yet to experience snobbery so it would be interesting for you to explain how you define it? Now I have come across a lot of people who want to keep themselves to themselves but snobbery no. As far as regimentation I am at a bit of a loss at how you avoid that on modern sites where there is a requirement for hardstanding and the same could be said of a lot of commercial sites?

Personally I think the Club as a whole has always been divided, there are members who only ever visit Club Sites & CLs and are often the ones moaning about not knowing what is going on and how the Club is run. Then there are the Centre members or ralliers who are the grass roots members, though even some of them don't know how the Club runs and many of both groups really don't much care as long as it doesn't interfere with their outings.
The Club puts out a monthly magazine and has a website I really don't know how much more is really expected of them when it comes to communicating with the members, after all it IS a big business and some things are not best shared with everyone, it simply isn't good business practice. But then you just cannot please everyone, there are way too many members for that.

I'm not unhappy about the changes in the slightest. Won't make a blind bit of difference to me, I agree they could have let members know before hand but they didn't so move on. On York Rowntree at the moment there does not appear to be a Lot of unhappy people on this very full site.

I joined the Club Together forum to learn about members adventures, good experiences,caravan/motorhome tips and advice, good places to visit, lovely CLs etc. Unfortunately it has become a platform for moaners and complaints. Let's have a bit more 'positivity' and less of the negative as we look forward to Spring.

Interesting point. Yesterday I booked a week at Sandringham, and having looked at the CMC site on Google maps saw that the CCC site next door looked less regimented and crowded so booked onto the CCC site instead.

Some things that the club could have advised members of.
1. New Affiliated Sites for 2017. Yes it is on the booking website but has the club told members that it is coming.
2. Mildenhall. Yes might lease might be under negotiation but there is as far as I am aware still a lease. Could be a lack of volunteer staff. If that were the case saying nowt to members is unlikely to help. Rather than let members book and say nothing until its highlighted by another member that there is problem why not make some kind of announcement.
3. Rebrand. Could easily have told members why there was no handbook until 3 months late and told members and CL owners months ago that a change in logo or name was on the cards without further details other than that there would be an 'exciting' announcement at the NCE in Feb.
Yes there are others
