It's only a handful of posters on the forum Tinwheeler, I don't think it's representative of the membership as a whole, the majority likely couldn't care less if they happen to be parked next to a motorhome on site.
I too have been surprised by some of the anti MH comments that appeared earlier in this thread and didn't realize this animosity existed. It's a funny ol world.

I spend 120 nights a year on sites. Around a hundred on club sites. I am damned sure that it is not representative.

The C&CC have just reported on their Faceache page that they have seen a marked increase in motorhome owners enquiring about membership, whilst at the show.
Its something me and the missus are now considering. Sell the big expensive to run diesel 4x4 and the caravan, replace with a motorhome and a small petrol car

I based my last post on my reading of page 9 of the current magazine . I note that our dearly beloved Chairman doesn't know what "the next generation of explorers will look like". Well it's not rocket science is it they'll likely mostly have a head, a body, two arms and two legs. They'll be driving big cars or motor homes and be dragging bigger caravans some of which will leak, some even as soon as they leave the dealers' forecourts. BTW my grandson likes the new logo so at least one explorer of tomorrow has been partly won over. Result 😀 It's comforting to know that the CAMC will be ready for them, whatever that means.

Breaking your journey at Scone, I presume you are using the oppositions site😂

I have nothing to add about the re branding except to say the stickers went into the bin. But I'm wondering if anyone employed in the re branding exercise considered that any potential new members on putting Caravan and ........ into a search engine on the internet to look for a club to join the first one that now comes up is Caravan and Camping Club! Before the change caravan club was to the fore. Caravan and Motor home is way down the list.

Really winding up now to be the biggest post oon CT The huge majority seems incensed with the waste of monies in this rebranding and the impact on the Cl owners. As the chairman resigning, this was the fellow who ruined a caravan on a stunt-a bit like this actually. They never learn.

I'm sorry but I really find the new logo dull, dated & boring Presumably some company has been paid a fortune to "design" it And the site fees will go up again to cover it The general opinion amongst my caravanning family and friends (in a large car club) is that you are pricing yourself out of the market Last year we only used you out of high season because you were too expensive, especially for the pleasure of sharing kids on bikes etc. You have always been the best but I am worried that we will not be able to use you on our pension in the future.................

Ooh look, a flying pig.

I've been thinking about reserving hardstanding pitches....
Maybe each site could have a big gravel circle, which caravans only could reserve. They could then pitch nose to tail with awnings facing inwards like a wild west wagon train. They would then not have to look at the motorhomers. The motor homes could of course drive around them while going to the service point firing barbed comments at the caravanners, all the while moaning about which side the drain is on, instead of just reversing on or driving on to suit
It would be almost as exciting as watching me reversing onto a pitch and provide endless fun for the newbies in the pods and encouraging them to join us after picking sides of course

I have just watched that new video on OP again. (Not the one that has to explain the logo, that's just naff) The one with the Richard Briers lookalike Grandad, lovingly holidaying with his son or daughter and their 2.2 children (I have imagined grandchild three is on its way, hence the 2.2!)
I am speculating here, but it shows a motorhome just before the film cuts to the Chairman and his brave new world speech. I am wondering if someone is now the proud owner of a motorhome, rather than a large caravan with the back end repaired............?
Not that it makes a difference to me of course, I have both, and a tent.

Oh, yes, Phil. We've been going there for years and the wifi works! We'll use a few more of their sites as well. We find they tend to be in handier locations than CC's.

As a trailer tent and campervan owner, I'm feeling excluded from the rebranded club. I understood the caravan club included all units with wheels. I remember being told by the Club when I joined 11 years ago that if you have wheels, you are welcome! Now it doesn't give the impression of embracing other units, which is a great shame.

Superb new look to the Club logo and web site and congrats to all for this move to recognise the changing membership and increase in Motorhomes. Can you please therefore review the MH service points on many sites as lifting a big heavy plate to access the grey waste point is hard work.

Will the club compensate us for the 15,000 leaflets we have had printed all with the old logo and club name on them to advertsise our CL site here at Greetham Retreat CL in Lincolnshire. These cost us over £500 and are now all inaccurate. Why has the club not informed CL owners of the changes in advance? To not give any advanced warnings to CL;'s many others will have letterheads, uniforms and other sighnage purchsesd for the new season by now and it will all be wrong and just a waste of money. Its strange that all your own sites were aware before the announcment but no CL's had any idea what was proposed. The new CL sign does not appear to even mention the 5 van limit which we allways comply with. We will have vans turning up and just setting up and making us break the law by exceeding 5 vans? This has just not been thought through for the perspective of CL owners. We are very disapointed with the lack of consideration and thought from the club to CL owners like us who thought we were partners enhancing members chioces and experiances on our sites. Again would be very interested if you will compenste us the money we spent on advertising so that we can get a complete reprint with the correct logos and club name etc.

Now this guy, I feel for.

Rob, I feel for you but without trying to rub salt into your already open wounds, this forum is not really the place to be making your complaint without first trying a letter, email or call to your contacts at HO.
Best of luck, hopefully the Club will show a little compassion. Keep your receipts for the promotional material you have had made, and send HO copies with your complaint.

Feel for you & the other CL owners Rob, it is truly appalling that such a large & popular section of the Club Network has been so appallingly treated.
My minor grouse about my membership card, valid from 1st March having the Old Logo etc on it seems more of a micro-grouse in comparison !
I hope you get the compensation you deserve and Swiftly.
