Sitting back after a mornings serious graft !!
Went to Aged Sister's this morning ( 1 ) to find nothing for me to do except stroke the house cat, fat young Alfie !! Her eldest son retires on Tuesday so the old pictures of a chubby young Military Horseman will be much in evidence this week, no doubt !! He was there before me, and was leaving in his 'retirement present' so I never got to thank & congratulate him .
( For congratulate read Tease )
( 1 ) The work I was down for did not materialise -- her Birthday Birdtable had just toppled over, and the foreshortening effect convinced her it was badly broken - so loading the 'van with tools, screws cramps, glues & wood lengths various was just an exercise in fat removal, as was the reverse procedure
but its killed a bit of time 'til my Club Handbook Arrived
so I've got the Steam rallies, Club Sites etc etc to work out. Then it will be BOOKING TIME !! So do not disturb this is serious stuff kids
Enjoy yersells, kidz, keep warm, dry and 'appy !!
Brian
Thinking of that -- would you believe it, I really do miss him { 'Appy that is } It seems so quiet without the stirring little rascal !

I've just been out for a local 60th wedding anniversary do with friends and neighbours. Nice to catch up with everyone, have a few bites to eat and drink some fizzy stuff. Got indigestion now as haven't been eating much this week.
Enjoy making your bookings ABM. I've just started to think ahead, have got June sorted, also on a waiting list for a rally in Devon and then a big blank to fill.
Hope Triky P has a good day out!
Drizzly here, rugby on, usual Saturday afternoon.....

Thanks for that, Brue ! I'll be looking at new ( to me ) sites in East Anglia ( x Mildenhall ) And in your area ( x Wincanton )
They were both sites that I liked to use, easy to get to, easy to leave & stock up on the way to my type of rally !!
I might even get lost heading to Blandford F for the Great Dorset

I've been looking back for a photo of our awning in use. Seeing this one from 2015 makes the thought of summer and getting away very desirable.
It was a perfect hot sunny week at New England Bay and as you see we cooked outside. All the stuff outside (apart from the barbecue) fitted in the awning. I think that was Beef Stroganoff in the making.

Hopefully it won't be too long before we get lovely weather again Goldie and we can all get our BBQs out.

We had a really great meet up with Helen and Trevor this morning. Lovely to meet them and their lovely dog. We had a very enjoyable walk round the lakes followed by a coffee and got back just before the rain arrived. A lovely way to spend a Saturday morning.

It's just the Club to me, was, is and shall be. Only Club I am a member of, and that is mainly for the CLs.
Mind you, I still call most of the renamed sites by their old names as well. My bank is just, the Bank. Work was just, work.
I only name things of great importance and value.
I wouldn't say I am in the Club to strangers though!
Incidentally, will Red Pennant henceforth be known as Brown Squiggle?

We will be looking for an inflatable that is large enough for cooking as well as seating. Even in the winter, my wife insists on doing all the cooking in the awning. The advantage being that you don't have the lingering smell of cooking in the van. The caravan kitchen is just used for making cups of tea or coffee or microwave meals.
We were thinking of buying one at the National in Sandringham. Hopefully, there'll be a stand of awning displays there so that we can see what they look like erected. Then we'll be able to choose one that will have adequate space inside.

Malc, do you have the awning heater on for her?
0 -
No, she never bothers with the awning heater because she thinks there's no enough power to run the oven or hobs as well as an awning heater.

Thanks, brue. I just had a read of both pages. It looks as though the Bradcot make is well praised there. It seems that it is a British make of air awning. So I think that might be good for us too.

I just had a look at the Bradcot website. It looks like they have brought out a full inflatable awning new for 2017 at £799 if you buy before end of February. I think previously you could only get either porch or half awning as inflatable. A full awning, inflatable, was never previously available. If it had been available we would have gone for it in 2015 when we bought the van instead of a pole awning.

Lovely to meet you both this morning, really enjoyed our walk and chat, Managed a shorter walk this afternoon between showers.

Not sure about the full sized one but don't the porch/half awnings have removable fronts and side doors? when we used to put up an awning we used to just drag the roof bit through first then add poles and peg before adding in the panels, or not if it was warm enough. Surely the inflatables are the same.

You are more energetic than us. It has been watching rugby all afternoon here!

It was only a short walk, watched some rugby too.
Now struggling with site wifi!

It looks like more than one piece but I can't find any details of overall weight. It looks like a further section can be added on to a porch to make a half awning and then another section added on to make a full awning. A clever idea, it seems!
