Thanks for your recognition EasyT - much appreciated.  Things have been messed up recently, granted but I do believe in giving people a chance.  However, when it is a large organisation that is involved and the fundamental basics of communication are ignored (website content and information for the customer etc) then they should loom seriously at what is happening from the top down,

I don't think this is correct Moulsey, or else the Club would have so many very unhappy caravanners!

Rochelle - I'm very relaxed about the rebranding as long as it doesn't impinge on my use of club sites when I want to.

So, just a yes or no answer will do - any truth in the earlier claim that "...motorhomes can reserve a specific pitch..."?

Er the whole point of a logo is that you don't have to explain it.

Much my view. If you have to explain your painting/image it has not achieved.

    Hi Moulsey,

When managing pitches on site there are occasions when it is necessary for us to take into account weight, length and/or size of an outfit and this can apply to both caravans and motorhomes, as not all pitches can accommodate all types of outfits.

But when it comes to motorhomers being able to book specifically, no that's not strictly true.

Three of the four 'values' mention the great outdoors and we are being called explorers now.

I don't think the ethos of this club is what I signed up to. It may have been mis-sold. frown

I liked it when supporting and championing the touring community were values.

Absolutely brilliant idea. I had a caravan for years but for the last few years we've Motorhomed. I was beginning to feel unloved in the Caravan Club but feel at home once more.

The main clubs were about Camping and Caravaning (according to their names), I was beginning to think I should join Motorhome Fun!

Looking forward to seeing far more articles about Motorhomes in the club mag.

How about more Motorhome-centric pitches? Reduced size at reduced prices as we normally turn up with just one vehicle, not two. We also usually only have a small roll out awning not a mega sized canvas bolt-on.

How about campaigning for the creation of Aires and Stellplatz like France and Germany have at sub 10 euros night? Perhaps an area at club sites could be set aside - no bookings, first come, first served?

Anyway - good luck with the change

    Facebook announcement?

    Live streaming?

Err? Don't do Facebook and I was at work when all this kicked off!

    Some of you remember work?

I feel so insecure now! I don't like change, I've just bought a new caravan!!

Oh my god!! How will I adjust???

( But I have fallen deeply in love with the blonde lady in the new videos on YouTube! Total fox)

Oo! And ban block bookings! Please 😁

Thanks for that clarification Rochelle. I've no problem with sites being managed to provide suitable pitches for any outfit.

And to be clear to my many motorhoming friends, I'd be against pre-booking of specific pitches for caravanners too! Smiley smiley.

This is the worst logo change since British Airways!!!  Anyone else remember Mrs Thatcher covering the tail of a model air plane & bending the ear of a B.A. manger?

Also what about the Centres, I trust HQ will be paying for New Flags, stationary etc.,  have rally plaques got to be bigger to get the new name on?   This really hasn't been thought through, please tell me its April 1st

Oh come on you miserable lot: what's the matter with you? Times change and so must organisations, in order to keep up, if not ahead, of the competition. Well done CMC (although, according to my  building brain, that means the Cement Marketing Company!)

Completely agree! The rebranding has to go beyond just a new logo and colour palette. Cultural change is required!

I find it very sad that so many who profess to have the club's best interests at heart feel they cannot embrace this change - to go with the flow - preferring to focus instead on the way things have always been. I hope those people will eventually come to terms with the need to re-brand to encourage the next generation of "campers" to join. We must allow the board to make the commercial decisions they need to on our behalf to make this happen - without all this fuss.

Not particularly bothered with a name change one way or the other, but the new logo already looks dated and the spin is insulting.

My concern here is how much will the re-branding cost the club, after we only just got new signeage last year which has already cost a lot of money The whole thing suggests marketing people have taken over and older more experienced sensible people have left the Clubs management. Maybe we can look forward to an annual change of name/logo from now on?....

When we say more, we mean more inspiration, inclusivity, simplicity and a pioneering spirit

Ah, thanks for the clarification!! cry

Not sure that I am even a tad wiser but stick to the script by all means R

Boff's question concerning consultation of members neatly dodged - the answer being paraphrased as "No, not at any time". But we live in an era of post-truths and alternative facts.

My alternative fact is our next logo (after due consultation with someone I met once who swears he received a questionnaire from the MCC) will be a trailer tent being drawn by a unicorn. Who knew that unicorns could draw... exciting huh?

I don't like the name, logo or reason for its introduction. There was nothing wrong with what we had. We don't need to attract more members, we can't get bookings on some sites now, we certainly don't need more members booking the limited spaces.

Utter rubbish from CC, every one knew what the caravan club was for,

history gone, forgotten, written off, Camping Club did this years ago still the Camping Club, and this club will still be the Caravan Club, complete waste of OUR money, bet our idiot chairman dreamed this up, at the end of the day we are all campers and to write off the CC logo is plain stupid.
