Why is the website so slow
I have tried a couple of times to book online for a site when it became available but the web site is so slow by the time I have gone through the process it is unavailable so booked private site else where. It is like wading thru treacle using this site to book. Other web site are fine

I can't say I noticed that the booking process was any different from previously when I used it recently. Perhaps your connection, or they were in the process of loading fixes, which slowed it up for a short while.
However, getting into the CT discussion listing I find always slow and sometimes almost stationary.

Mine doesn't appear slow. I'm no IT wiz but try clearing your cache. Have you checked your speed? Try www.speedtest.net although if other websites are ok, that's maybe irrelevant.
its likely to be download speed that is of interest, as I would have though the amount of uploaded data when booking is minuscule.

Had the same slow speed problems, Geordie01 !
But at least I was not booking anything, just playing
on C T . So I gave up, went to Amazon for 12 books
for my Kindle. When I came back, Lo & Behold its
running like a long dog after something or other !!

This is the new "state of the art" software which the CC have spent a couple of year's developing. ---- We should all feel privileged to use this superb software. No bugs - no glitches - very fast - all those bells and whistles. --- What more could any CC caravanner need or want ?.

I've currently got a number of web pages open including this, TES (Times Educational Supplement), Swift Talk and my office portal. I'm afraid the club site has been noticeable slower since the supposed upgrade.
I'm using Virgin Media 200mb and an almost new MacBook.

Hi All, In the last few weeks I have found it very slow and it is not my computer. It is even worse than the MX5 Owners Club website which I do not use much as it is so annoying.
It is very interesting that when a company wants to sell you something online and this is their means of revenue they have very good speed, e.g If Amazon website was slow you would just go elsewhere.
With the Caravan Club, MX5 Owners Club etc, you have paid the subscription, so this is not a priority.
If the Caravan club did not have a subscription and revenue was only made out of Sales and service the speed and service would be good or they would go under!
It is interesting that I asked for the website to be able to select Fully serviced sites only. This feature is still available!
Cheers Derek

Altogether now.....
"Ha ha, ha, ha.....stayin' alive, stayin' alive!"
or, if you are Scottish......
"And I would walk 500 miles......!"
Those of a certain age will remember this one as well.....
"Nellie the elephant packed her trunk, and said goodbye to the circus..."

Why are the CMC not interested in improving their website ?.
Could it be :-
1 - The original specification both hardware and software was badly chosen and they are stuck with it ad infinitum.
2 - They have no IT staff who are sufficiently qualified to remedy the site.
3 - They want the "Club Together add on" to wind down and die, so that they can use that resource to load balance the main website.---- It would appear that they are already ramping up their Facebook replacement.

It is very slow at the moment. Lack of bandwidth at peak periods.
