Your wish list is easy till the fourth point. The only Adult only sites in France are small places run by British expats - they advertise in the back of the monthly Club magazine. Other than that I don't think there are any Adult Only sites in the whole of France. So if you can't bear children could you perhaps go to a normal site in term time when they are at school?

I think there are many suggestions that could be made in those areas but Adult only sites in France are very few and far between and, and as ET says above are mainly run my ex Pats so how French your holiday would be could be questionable. Although its just possible that they might have Gite type accommodation as well as camping pitches. As has been pointed outside of July/August you won't find many children on campsites anyway, except perhaps at weekends and even then not that many.

When are you planning to travel and are you wanting gite accommodation on site, or mobile homes and chalets?  How many of you are there?  There are many sites which will fit two out of three of your wishlist - but not many Adults Only - as has already been pointed out.  There is one Adults Only site I know of, in the Lot, which has a heated pool and has self-catering gite, chalets and mobile homes.

On the other hand, there are non-Adults only sites in Burgundy and the Loire which  have heated pools and self-catering accommodation - including one at just eleven euros per night (with an ACSI Card - www.campingcard.co.uk) for pitch, two adults, car and caravan, awning, and electricity (and a dog if you have one).   Alternatively they offer simple four berth tents for 45 euros, 55 euros per night for a safari tent, or 67 euros for a mobile home.

That link doesn't work, Val.  Maybe THIS will?

    And some reviews here

I have to say that my mention of the site is not a recommendation, as friends of ours didn't like it - but it does get mixed reviews, so perhaps it's a 'love it or hate it' site!  One review on Trip Advisor mentions the cold pool, so though it says it's heated it may not be warm enough for some.  There are mixed reviews on UKCS (in InaD's link) too - and again some love it and some really don't.

Like all Adults Only sites, it's British owned, and it does seem that the clientele is mostly British

Val is absolutely right.   The only 'adult only' site I know of is near Rocamador and last I heard was British owned.    Some friends of ours went there and were not impressed.

The French tend to see caravanning and camping as very much a family pastime and the idea of 'adult-only' sites is just not on their radar.    However, I really don't think you need worry about noisy children if you go outside the main season from the beginning of July to mid August.  Sites that are packed then can be quiet and idyllic outside those 6 weeks or so and yet still have a good level of facilities open..

Ian, the French do not caravan/MH in the same way that we do over here and outside of the school holiday period in summer you are not going to be inundated with French caravanners descending on the site with little Jean Paul and Marie in tow. They do other things with their weekends off.

I have started to see a few Motorhomers, almost always a couple, who might venture out but you'll be fine if looking for child free sites IF going out of season but as you haven't come back on to this thread and let people know when you are going it's hard for us to be specific.
