The CC struggles to remind their customer base that last century it was formed as a club for rallyists..and everybody was a club member. That concept has moved on as the business has grown into a multimillion pound Leisure industry retailing goods and services. It can no longer be considered as a traditional cozy little Club run by well meaning amateurs. The business needs a professional approach to ensure it's future and this means bringing the CC business model into a 21st century highly streamlined professional led organisation.
Business practice will change in the future for the CC as it is dragged kicking and screaming into the 21st century--- Efficiency is the aim of all modern retail organisations. The CC will follow. No doubt about it.

May that kicking and screaming, although I'd call it reaffirmation and reassurance continue for a very, very long time. I'm absolutely sure it will!.
No exclusion, no alienation of fellow members make absolute sense, leave that to the competition and their different ways of working!

No exclusion, no alienation of fellow members make absolute sense, leave that to the competition and their different ways of working! After all, difference and competition leads to choice and that is good business!

once again a good reply, +1

Inclusivity is a key fundamental of the club's philosophy. It's what makes it different from the many commercials (with their "special" offers), many private sites (with their "add on" charges) and many AO sites. Nothing against any of these, they obviously appeal to huge numbers of satisfied customers. As, of course, does the club to the much larger number of customers who use their sites every year. This difference (let's call it choice) is surely to be encouraged, not belittled.

Once again the quality of your posts deserve admiration.
Anyway we all know that the days of a couple of hundred well meaning bumbling amateurs trying to run any huge company are numbered.
Efficent professional managers are the way to go. In a modern 2017 trading environment.

Having met many ineffective bumbling managers and so called professionals in my time, I firmly believe that the involvement of members, who may incidentally be extremely competent profesionals or well informed individuals in a variety of fields and expertise, is an asset to our club's structure. Indeed some of the best profesionals I have worked with have been those who have listened and consulted with their customers. This structure makes the club unique in several ways and not necessarily less effective in its workings. Effective 'teams' with broad ranges of skills, interests and perspectives is healthy for an organisation, particularly those which 'serve' customers or a membership in our case. Consulting with and involving the membership in core issues and direction, as happens in the club, is what makes it attractive to many of us and does not necessarily lessen its effectiveness as an organisation.
In a way this management structure and involvement of members as described in the 'bye laws of the club' mirrors that very inclusive nature we believe so important and thankfully one that is to be treasured and maintained. I'm sure it will be for a very long time to come.
The very idea of banning and exclusion certain fellow club members at club sites by trial or otherwise is a negative notion and certainly make little business sense to me nor, in my opinion, does it hold any collective appeal.2 -
Well said above Kennine.......very valid and worthwhile comments that we will all learn from.
I agree that it's a shame that the other CC supporters continue with their '+1' type comments (and others of no real substance or content, other than to support whatever might be said in favour of the CC) but we are all entiled to express our views......however we chose to do that.
I have said it before and it is surely worth repeating......the CC is a business and one that struggles to compete in the area of running caravan sites, with its 'stick in the mud' attitude. Indeed, we have already seen attempts to sell off some of their top sites.
Within the next 5 years we will see the srart of selling off the sites. You heard it here first.

I'll take that patronisation as a compliment then but I'm not at all sure what central issue or mistakes you are referring too! Are these the facts I describe that do not fit with your opinions and arguements? I think they are!
All I'm really saying is the club should not and will not bannish fellow members from sites! No more no less! This is at the heart of the OP and what is important to all members!
Inclusivity is the key!

There was/is the oportunity for the vocal few who can find fault with anything cc to put their more often than not very misguided ideas of how they think it should be run, but by the the lack of comments from any ,it seems as usual just hot air while looking at their image

You make a good point there micky. You have posted a number of coherent structured posts.
If you disagree with them, which is easier to do? Make a similar coherent structured reply and point out in detail how and where you have made any misconceptions and inaccuracies, or where you continue to make a lot of mistakes and tend to miss the central point,
or be patronising and just post such comments without any such detail, reasoning and counter arguments?
Which approach has more credence? Who is posting something they believe in?

Owing to the amount of reports I've received from this thread, I'll be closing this pending investigation.

Micky, I've given you a like for your post. It is well thought out and beautifully written and presented. On a forum people, even if they disagree, can be friendly and appreciate a well presented post. Well done.
This is just a forum, its not real life, Nothing discussed here will affect what happens at Grimstead Towers. So it is strange how much in the way of insults and thread spoiling occurs due to those handfull of posters who do not have your intellectual ability but share your views.
My advice to those people is to study your posting style and try to repicate your intellectual presentation. Up until then you will be the only ardent CC supporter whose posts I will be bothered reading

Very true, having suggested I had mistakes in my posts, I requested explanation from these fellow members. No explanation, no substance forthcoming, just a duplicated non substanciated and quite frankly, rather patronising retort. Very, very poor debating skills in my opinion and reminiscent of other 'arguments' we have been witnessed when in the deaththrows of defeat. They wish not to discus but choose to ignore those that do try to add comment in friendly and helpful ways. I think it only fair that they should be given the chance to substantiate claims of my alleged mistakes but I won't be holding my breath. In the meantime, I deem that, as previously stated, the facts I produced just simply did not fit their opinion.
