We're planning a trip to Auschwitz for 2 weeks in June this year 2017.

Can anyone offer any advice on where to stay or any useful tips that would help our trip go smoothly please?

We're new to this having purchased our Motorhome this year :)

Thanks

Diane & Ozzy

hope you enjoy your trip Ozzi. We had family members visit there last year and they were so saddened by the place and the horrors which took place there, that I doubt if they will ever return.

It has certainly put me off going.

    Cheers....................K

Auschwitz is an important place to visit for a day but I'm not sure about two weeks. You might find basing yourself in Krakow and taking a day trip more agreeable.

There's an excellent small campsite at the Centre for Dialogue and Prayer, about 400 metres from the main site entrance. They also serve  evening meals in the main building. We spent a night there a few years ago, it was one of the most memorable nights of my life, listening to the railway yards in the distance marshalling waggons throughout the night (Auschwitz is still very close to a major railway intersection).

There is ample parking outside the Buchenwald site a couple of miles away. As others have said, a day or two at the most is sufficient but Krakow is a must see too.
