NEC parking with caravan (not staying overnight)
I'm thinking of going to either this weekend's caravan show at Manchester, where I will only get a couple of hours at most, or the NEC show in February. The latter is more likely, but it will be a stop off as I tow my caravan to another destination. So, can I use the parking facilites, with my caravan, without having to pay the large overnight camping fee that I will not need?

day parking for cars and MHs os included in the ticket price, as for bringing your caravan, not sure....my guess (based on using the car parks for the past few years) is that it would not be allowed.
i suggest calling the helpline...

Would you not be concerned about the security issues of leaving a caravan parked in a public car park for so long?

imthink DK might have been referring tomthe relative 'nickability' of a caravan compared to an immobilised/alarmed MH...
if it were me, and id been allowed in the car park with the caravan in tow, id be asking one of the many security staff to 'keep an eye on it'...
however, IMV, i dont think the normal customer cqr park is really the place for caravans, its too crowded there for easy navigation....

If you want to attend the NEC why not book a couple of nights at Chapel Lane CC site and then drive to the show for the day. Don't think I have ever seen a car and caravan parked in the car parks. As others have said security would be a big issue, and also navigating out of a busy crowded car park with a caravan in tow.

Thanks for the comments so far.
DavidKlyne: The caravan will be left attached to the tow-car with a hitch-lock, plus a wheel clamp, so should be secure. The curtains will be closed so there's no way of knowing if somebody is inside.
JD6620: I'll be working on Thursday and if I don't work, I don't earn. On Friday I shall be travelling to Donington Park for a Saturday-only event, so the NEC is an ideal stop-off. Also, I thing the caravan would be more secure with it still attached (and hitchlocked) to the car. I have hear of thefts where the A-frame is just plonked on top of something, although that may just be scaremongering.
I have since had a response of: "You will be able to park for the show FOC during the day, just not overnight". I'm not sure if I need to book or just turn up.

I would think the issue will be finding a parking space of the requisite length.

Croxall Farm , www.croxallfarm.com usually hosts a C&CC Temporary Holiday Site when the NEC show is on, just 5 miles from the show and you can leave your van there...weve used it before, very handy
cheap, too at around £8
