Read earlier today that Lord Snowdon has died.

    I remember watching his wedding to Princess Margaret on the TV (black and white) in my younger days.

    A very talented photographer, a charming man.

    They showed an interview with him in later life talking about his photography. Asked how he managed to get such good shots he said something to the effect that like all photographers he just hoped the bloody things come out well!!!

    I,m reading a serialised article about Lord Snowdon and princess Margaret at the moment and he sounds as though he was very much his own man and as Pliers says an exceptional photographer who did a lot of groundbreaking work in that field.RIP.

    He came from a priveledged back-ground, married well and therefore, whatever his chosen 'profession' would have been considered by some to be an 'expert'...... but they both appear to have led quite 'separate' lives.

    He was someone who I didn't know, have no connection with......one of many who died that day.

    I thought they said he was "a commoner " embarassed can't have been true,he wasn't from gods own county.
