Hi, has anyone ever visited Camping Moby Dick, Calella de Palafrugell, Costa Brava. I am keen to know if it is suitable for motorhomes of 7.5 m and 4 tonnes in size. Regards, Roy

Hi Roy, hope you don't mind the call but did you ever find out if Moby Dick was OK for a large van - am looking at it for summer but the site must be closed for now and I cannot get a response. Our van is just about the same size as yours

A few years ago we pitched up at Moby Dick on the day they were supposed to open for the season. There were no signs of life except for a young couple who had turned up to start work for the season with all their possessions  packed in their car! The site looked a bit disorganized so we left them to it and went to Kim's Camping at Lla Franc.

Lla Franc is a delightful small stylish resort set in a small bay. Kim's is located above the town and it's a strenuous walk back to camp. You can also walk along cliff-top paths in both directions, including an easy walk to Calella. You would need a car to get to into the town of Palafrugell.

    Hi DougieA,

No we never got into Moby Dicks as it was closed when we visited. We ended up staying at an ACSI site at Pals and caught the bus to Palafrugel then walked to the coast but Chas' suggestion seems to be best.

    Regards, Roy

I have stayed at Kims many time, its a great camp site, the bay is a lovely place to spend  sea side pass times, how ever the steep hill back can take a toll on the legs,......... but we manage it by only the car driver did the hill...... and gave a lift back to the rest of us.......lol
