Less forum activity?
Is it just my imagination, or a seasonal thing, or is there really a noticeable reduction in activity on CT just recently?

I'm sure its this new "retro, off of the 90's" website.
I find myself less drawn to use it as it is more difficult to use, the functionality has been reduced and it just look frankly 'PANTS!'

As someone who uses the forum several time a day I certainly don't get the impression the forum is being used any less. People's energy might be directed at commenting on the new forum but that is still forum use. Since the new year there has been a increase in posts in Overseas Touring.

I think that regular users of the old system are using this one less, I know that I am! It's just so much more annoying what with the top banner dropping down nearly every time and no personal history to follow posts that I've written.

1st time I have been looking for a while and tbh I still do not like it. Only had a look because I was booking a break, still there are probably plenty to fill the places of the ones who don't like it....see it as a small cull

There's another thread on a very similar topic in GC.

If you click on the "caravanner from...." bit under your avatar your previous posts are there. It was easier when we could see this on the right hand side, much more clicking needed on the new site. I think the forum has been fairly busy but the comments about the new forum can draw attention away from other posts.

Or feelings of low self worth

Perhaps it is becuase it isn't that easy to see new posts and threads. There is no indication of a new post on the discussion subject headings and the "lastest activity/discussions" is a much too short a list.
Do I detect a bug fix in that the lastest post of a thread now shows the author rather than the OP?

Maybe most folk do know it, they probably then 'unlike' to even the balance again. I can see the 'likes' becoming the new 'stars'

Are some of you jumping ship - today MHFacts are reporting an upsurge in activity.
Am I the only one who 'Reports' his own posts?

I certainly am visiting the forum much less and contributing less too. As a fairly newcomer to the camping hobby (4.5 years) I used the forum a lot to gain knowledge and ask for advice. I felt I contributed in that same regard too as a bit of a pay back for all the help I had received and also added a lot of stories to help others.
Since the new forum has meant a lot of very important threads are now lost and all my photos are no longer with my stories I feel like I have been let down a little and even contacted the Club to raise these issues and tell them how I now felt, but I have yet to receive any reply. After all posting stories whilst touring is not always easy internet wise and they do take up a lot of time and effort if you want to do them justice and impart helpful information and photographs.
These points I suspect have led to my lesser use of the forum rather than the niggly bits that have made it less user friendly. There are some improvements though as well which I did like.
Happy New Year to you all. Regards, Roy

I tried it on yours, Dave but it only added one like. It didn't dduplicate.

Maybe they are just "testing" the like button ---. A few days back when somebody commented on one of the Mods liking his own post, he indicated that he was just "testing" it. ------ Aye Right !!!!
I don't know any other forum where it is possible to "Like" your own post. -- Strange that this one has that built in facility.--- Is this what the CC call an upgrade.?.
Cheers .......................K

Why would you doubt it, K? After all, you're testing all the time.
