So far I have been unsuccessful in embedding a campsite video into this forum using the method described by the FM.--- I am getting the same error message as Suburban.

What video formats are supported by this forum software please.??

    Cheers ........K

Seems to work OK from my iPad K. Rochelle did say it only works from video hosting sites, not from your own computer. What site / equipment are you using?

Do me a favour Steve. Make a small video clip on your phone or movie camera and then post it on here. . If successful let us know how you did it.

The FM cas been asked a coupe of times what video formats this CC software will accept but we've never had an answer.

    Cheers .....................k

This is a video taken on a phone. It's an mp4 file. It was taken when 'Benjy' was 9. Turn down the volume!!

Had to use 'embed' to make it work - but it then gave access to all of our files on 'onedrive'.

    Have removed the link

By 'viewing' an image, you can then drag an drop it into a post., ColBur. But aspect ratio seems to have gone awry in this case!

I am not able to do that K as I don't store any of my videos on an off site drive. Probably just as well, as if as C&C have found it gives open access to everything on it,

    Hi Kennine,

As previously mentioned in the tutorial, you are not able to upload video direct from your computer or device, the video has to be hosted online on a video hosting site (YouTube/Vimeo etc) and linked from there into your post.

    For example:

Just discovered that I can keep modifying the slideshow without using the edit function! Just logon to google slides and make the changes. This might be the way to go with stories.

Chas - Thanks for your comments above re photo. I can now resize photos and am trying to add to post but at a larger size than a thumbnail! The fact that I am using Apple gear and I believe you use Microsoft, means that the simple concept of dragging and dropping is not quite so easy! But at least I can now add something!!   smile

The forum default is, when you add a photo, that it will only appear as a thumbnail but this can be clicked on to show a larger image. If you want to see the picture without scrolling bars you need to resize the original to 500 pixels wide. I got the impression from something that was said that they might be working on photos so they appear larger without scroll bars but how long that will take I have no idea. Some people have manage some work rounds to this to show a larger picture but as yet this has not been included officially into the forum.

Posting thumbnails with wonky popouts isn't what the Customers wanted.

Chas - I agree but after years of not being able to post photos from my MacBook, anything that works (to a degree!) is a vast improvement!! Colin

For chasncath. The following is just an observation.

Your slide show is running when your post is visible on my screen. I found that as I normally use the back/forward arrows [quite a lot] in the www bar to move around CT it moves between slides to the end of the slide show 1st .I guess that is because it has no play button that I could see as on the other videos.  I am wondering therefore could this affect people’s data allowance where they have to pay for it. As I said just an observation.

I will try to turn off the self-starting of my slideshow. I am not the complete master of the technology, indeed, I'm not quite sure how I did it in the first place. Doh! Not on www today, just using Club free wifi at Chapel Lane. Will try next time connected properly.

Posting pictures on this new forum is straighforward-- Unfortunately unlike the old forum where posting photos at a proper size was so easy and straightforward, it seems that the new system defaults to thumbnails. - Not Good

Posting home produced video clips of wildlife or Campsites on the other hand is a bit of a real challenge, so I won't post pictures or videos until this forum software has been fixed.

    Cheers....................K

Clicking on the thumbnail opens a larger picture.

Links to videos on You Tube or similar works for me.
