Want a role in the decision making process and the direction of 'our' club, then join the Club Council? The invite to get involved is now in the January magazine for all to see and on the website! Anyone up for it?

Can anyone who has been on the council tell us if any of their ideas have been adopted?

Yes, would be interesting to hear from these folk, Oneput. I guess that lone voice may not always represent the majority of feelings and opinions, mind. That old adage of not being able to please everyone all the time comes to mind. We witness all sorts of diverse and disparate opinions on here so it must be a challenging role for some if not all. Calls for a special type of character I guess, one who can see the whole picture and recognise all opinions. Not easy!

For me the changes in the on line pages, is that bad that I am considering not paying my membership next year.

The discussion pages are a complete dogs dinner its almost impossible to find anything and when you do find it there is only a fraction of the information per page as there used to be.

It is true that the web site needed improving but the changes are not an improvement, they are a inhibitor to any one using them.

Nope -- Grimstead Towers is around 800 miles  round trip from where I live. The council job would only suit those who live in and around London.

Better to do away with them there councils and committees and let the CC professional management efficiently run the CC retail business without meddling amateurs.

    Cheers................K  wink

I'm sure DSB and others will appreciate your thoughts, K.

Thankfully that is not what happens! This way of management defines the club ethos and it's way of working. If one does not like that then thankfully other alternatives exist and long may that choice remain! One 'size' does not 'fit' all!

You do get expenses for the trip so it is possible. May be some good Scottish thinking might be helpful.

Yes, Bob North has just posted tonight, wishing members a Happy New Year, in the UK Touring section under the "who's-away-for-Christmas-or-new-year" post.

Scotland and still does. Council members come from all of the member countries of the United Kingdom.
