Another David, hope you didn't mind my copying and displaying your photo. I'm using Firefox and windows 7. I opened CT in two tabs. When using 'view image' your photo comes up full size in the existing tab. I then left clicked and dragged the photo across to a comment box I had already opened. Why not give it a try

For anyone wanting to attempt full size pasting, please note that 'view image' is right click in Firefox. The image should appear in the open tab. Left click and hold on the image and then drag the mouse pointer to your open reply. Let go and the image should appear full size in your post. Make sure that there's a word of text already in the post.
To open CT in a second simultaneous tab, click on the tab at the top of the screen while holding down control and drag to the right and release.
It's Xmas Eve and I'm filling in time while the hard work is going on in the kitchen. It's past 6pm so time for a glass!

But isn't it a nonsense that we have to use such work rounds, which are only discovered by experimentation. Should we not have a more foolproof way of doing the same built into the forum? I don't have Firefox on my computer as I had a bad experience with it some time ago but perhaps its time to download it again? Once on a visit to Club HQ I noticed that they used Firefox so whether that has any connection I don't know.

Well said DiavidKlyne - I've just logged on and read all of this thread. It is absurd that we have a system that is patently not working as well as it ought to in this day and age.
We were 'bullied' in the nicest possible way by our kids to get on FB and I know when I go off skiing next month (without my wife) I will take multiple photos and upload them so she can see what we've been up to. No resizing, no hosting by photobucket etc and it takes seconds even when sharing free wifi with dozens of others. Is this really the best the Club can do if so heaven help us! Nuff said!
PS I did try uploading a picture following the tutorial and failed - and I am relatively computer literate.

While Cath watches Westside Story, some more experimentation. A few pages back, I posted a photo of the town hall at la Croix Valmer. The photo exceeds the column width by some means. It came from Google photos - I can't remember how! Here's another attempt

How odd! The photo on this post has vanished, not even leaving a trace of a link. It was there for a while, I came back and checked, but now it's gone. Meanwhile, in my next post, another photo inserted in the same way from the same sourcis still there. (It's from Kiko park). Has someone in IT removed my big photo?

Someone (can';t remember who) said to me that they could add photos the old way, via Photobucket. I've not been able to do this on this new version of CT. I've tried 'the old method' by using Firefox and Chrome, but no luck. As anyone else managed to add a photo 'the old way'?

I agree that the Old Way using photobucket was bullet proof and worked every time. Can't understand why the CC ditched it.
This new CC software IMO is a backward step as far as posting photos are concerned. I just can't be bothered faffing about trying to post photos. .
