Newbie
Hi ,I joined the CC back in June and also took out the cc caravan insurance ,but I've been left with a bad taste in my mouth after searching for a caravan sat nav ,it was a choice of Avtex caravan camper 660LTD or the Snooper Venturer ,I chose the cc version ,when it was delivered I was surprised that they was no case for it ,I contacted capital outdoors and they replied with the answer that cases are accessory extras, so I had no choice but to order one ,£15.99 ,then four days after receiving the case I had the January addition of caravan club magazine delivered ,and low and behold inside the magazine free case when you purchase the caravan camper sat nav ,
Not a happy bunny

Looks like you were unlucky and ordered at the wrong time. This is a promotion by the Snooper and offers come and go and it is not the fault of the club though. It can happen with almost anything you buy but the older adverts did price the accessories and did not say there was a free case. Our Garmin sat nav did not have a case in the box and as far as I can remember none we looked at had them when we bought it so the new offer is genuinely a bonus.

It was the caravan camper sat nav I bought wildwood ,yes I agree with your comments ,I don't blame cc for one minute ,I must say I've only used a couple of times locally and very impressed ,not be long now before it's going to be used for its intended purpose ,

Just slip the unit into an old sports sock and put it in the glovebox.
Years ago they never came with cases, and to me it's just the manufacturers trying to make an extra buck out of us.

Welcome aboard Nogger - I wouldn't bother with the case either - but I know what you mean. I have that Sat Nav but do be aware it is not 100% on the tricky approach to some CC sites - where the only reliable way is to use the Handbook and site directions. For Example the site at ST David's is apparently on the opposite side of the road right in the middle of a static van site! and instructions in the book to avoid St David's town do not feature. Otherwise I like mine a lot and as a solo traveller it helps as long as I remember to take not of any special instructions. Enjoy your hobby!
